  • We fired this (NEW) engine up a few days ago, and now we're taking it down to the bare block. Let the modification begin! This is a nice little engine and a GREAT foundation to improve on, so let's get after it! Thank you all for watching, commenting, and subscribing. You guy's really are GREAT!

Thank you for the explanation of hit and miss. I've often heard engines slowing down and then magically speeding up again. Next time I hear one, I'll know what's happening. 👍😉

    I have the same engine.
I bought it from a older man in California that buys them, balances the flywheels, instaining sealed beairing along with may other things that he does to make them run better.
It starts the very 3ed pull of the rope.
I tried to order another one from him. He told me that the one that I have was the last one that he wasn't going to build or mod anymore. That he was just getting to old to work on them??
All and all it a good and fun running engine.

You have me tempted to get one of these :) I do like the more 'realistic' look of them. Enjoyed the vid - Cheers Jim

Nice Matt to explain as you break it down to bare casting. Also nice modification going to bearings on pushrod interface and crank applications. Might have to get bearing numbers from you at some point

You are just going to keep going until you make that an outstanding engine, I know you are, soon as I saw those teeny tiny ball bearings I knew. This is my favourite engine possibly due to the way tweaking benefits it and it's great looking

What bearings did you use for the exhaust push rod and crank. Any part numbers or sources? Thanks for sharing your time and knowledge.

What size is the thread for the exhaust pipe. Have one in shipping and want to upgrade to normal vertical stack with expansion chamber like a normal exhaust.
