@BrokenMoonStudios I wonder that too. If we go with Tolkien's races, they can't procreate since they were made by different Valar (Ilúvatar and Aulë). Humans and Elves, on the other hand, were made by the same God, and I believe Hobbits/Halflings are related to humans. Most if not all western medieval fantasy derives from Tolkien's work, so that could be a possible explanation.

Decadence was a factor as well, as their society away from the frontlines had become too complacent and hedonistic. You know, kinda where we are in the West right now.

Honestly, Beta and Delta seem like they'd be pretty solid girls to marry. So basically, every type of Elf is attractive. Tell me something new
Honestly, Beta and Delta seem like they'd be pretty solid girls to marry. Alpha would likely f*** you but then trap you as a trophy husband and parade you around while constantly flaunting her status. Sigma seems like she'd be a one-night stand; but if you make that mistake you'll end up in a toxic relationship where you either hate her but stay around because you love the kids like nothing else, or do your best to flee and avoid her and she doesn't get the message that it was a one night stand (or r*** in this case) and you basically spend the rest of your life on the run from her. Gamma... You're going to get lead around on a leash, likely stepped on, and treated like nothing more than a f***toy. If you're lucky she *might* learn your name.
Omega elf is just a party girl ideal for a fling but no point in trying to build a relationship with her. Beta elf seems like the kind who would help you out as much as she could to help achieve your goals. While she'd probably be clingy and annoying at times she'd also find ample ways to make up for it. Delta would be an ideal partner and co-worker and you'd sure as heck get along with her; but actually sleeping with her would be kind of like sleeping with your best friend. So a lot of guys would be weirded out by it. They'd LOVE to be her friend, but that very same friendship is why they'd never risk moving to love. However, I suspect both would be good mothers, would support their husbands, and would be fairly easy to get along with on the whole. All while Omega's getting drunk off her ass and can't even remember if she has kids or a husband; possibly doing her best to avoid any ACTUAL relationships.

So considering how infrequent other elves get laid, I’m inclined to think that Omega elves are the main reason elf society hasn’t gone extinct from low child births. So most elves have an Omega as their parent.
Unless there is an alternate method like “elves can be born from world tree” setting.
