Sohyang can literally sing any genre & I’m so glad you’ve discovered this ‘begin again Korea’ series. Wait til you hear her rapping ( song called ‘day day’) & you should check out her nod to Ella Fitzgerald with her performance of ‘Misty’. Also in this series is her performance of WH’s ‘I will always love you’ & her heart wrenching rendition of Jason Mraz’s ‘I won’t give up’. I think many people think that Sohyang is serious because all they’ve seen is the big performances for TV etc with a band & like you said have a gospel thing going on but in real life she is really funny, very playful. She has duetted many times & singing with Sohyang can make anyone sound like a fantastic singer, she is so considerate of what the other singer is doing & will never try & show that’s she’s far superior vocally, even when she’s doin the big production numbers, she still makes a point of including the backing singers & musicians so everybody knows that are as an important a part of her amazing performances as she is.
She can't do any genre, the only ARTIST that can carry off any genre and sound fantastic at them all is MORISSETTE AMON, a big problem with sohyamg is that her English enunciation is very poor and hasn't got a great tone to her voice, this is where a lot of Filipino ARTISTS come into there own 🇬🇧.
Try again Steve, I will not put down Morissette, she is very talented but obviously you have not heard many of SoHyang’s Performances! Your analysis of SoHyang’s tone is total hogwash! Your entitled to your opinion and it really is your loss, you don’t have to pick just enjoy both!

As for pronouncing his name correctly, pronouncing "Jer-ng" rather than "Jung" would be closer to the pronunciation of Koreans. And, in order to pronounce "Seung" well, it will be helpful to make a mouth shape like pronouncing the second syllable of "cheese". Lastly, your pronouncing "Hwan" was similar to that of Korean.
It seems like they are trying to compete with Daryl ong and morisette the guy trying to sound like Daryl ong which is good but Daryl is the king of RnB runs no one can touch Daryl and the cover of you are the reason by Daryl and morisette is noted to be the best duet better than the original artist callum scott and Leona Lewis this Korean duet to me is coping mori and Daryl why don’t they do some other song Korean singer always trying to be better than the Filipino singers Filipinos are natural born singer while Korean are put through a training gauntlet
I think they both would not know Daryl. Morisette is famous, so they probably heard her name. Yes, Daryl and Morisette did amazing job on that song. Sohyang and SeungHwan also did amazing job.
