The irony is that when hes against some kind of monster he gives it absolutely no respect and clowns on it...but if its small little Duendes going "Mimimimimi" Joey jumps up a shelf and pisses himself like an incontinant cat when it sees a cucumber
I love the part where Joel replays Mario is coming after yourself and you die. Did not remember he played that one already. Yet after so many failed attempts at 85, he beat this one again. On his first try
When Vinny had a hard time with this I thought it was just Vinny being bad as usual and not properly kiting the spoopy mario, but seeing Joel having a hard time as well makes me feel that the game's actually too hard.
Like Joel points out, Luigi’s/Lucas’ movement isn’t identical to Super Mario Bros. and the hitboxes on the funny Mario that chases after you aren’t quite right, which makes the entire game harder than it already is
All of these demos just involve running away from a spooky Mario and then the end credits go "THX FOR PLAYING MY DEMO OF RUNNING AWAY FROM SCARY MARIO" The spritework in Game 1 is good, but I honestly don't really think there's much creative drive in these games, because all of these games consist of the same formula. If you guys want an actually good "haunted game" setup, play something like The Hex or Inscryption. Those games actually do something interesting with the idea of what these creepypasta-type games set up that don't involve running from a scary Mario covered in blood for the 19th time.
2 books worth of hidden lore, cameo as mods in every popular game with user-created content and 15 minutes of gameplay as its source material balanced, like all things should be
like creepypasta its ppl copying the same (not very good) concept and running it into the ground but with different cartoon characters. Like instead of "oooh sonic scayr blood eye scaryl.exe" its "oooh scary mario blood ehye .exe scarhy shit ur pants"

Yeah but it's scarier when the main guy is like an evil blood demon that's secretly taking the form of the main character because it has nothing better to do with its time other than haunt video game cartridges
I beat Mario 85 on the first try. Childhood playing with keyboard on emulator plays off. Although the air control is definitely a bit shallower making it tough either way.
