- In this video I'm going to showcase some less-known or hidden item effects that some people may not know about. The goal is to raise awareness about new item effects introduced in Repentance and to teach newer players about some older ones.

1. Charm of the vampire makes your character not reflect in mirrored surfaces (downpowr floor for example)
2. If technology 2 being picked up by Cain or character with a stapler he will shoot only with tech laser.
3. Midas touch reduces Ultra Greed boss armor by 25% and makes poops spawned by any character effects have chance to become golden one.
the Mom's perfume item lets you break the Tears soft cap as it's actually not a Tears Up, but one of the few Tears Delay Down items. Functionally the same, your fire rate will still increase, but as it's not a Tears Up, it's not affected by the cap.

Mom's Locket turns all half red heart pickups into full red heart pickups. I learned this on a Tainted Maggie run and it was a crazy powerful combo.
I mean that’s not really a hidden effect. That’s just what it does. Solid combo tho
@@Meatballin I didn't know about the full heart effect until I installed external item descriptions. I thought that healing you when you use a key was its only effect
Me, with almost two thousand hours in the game over several years: I bet I already know all of these, seems like a fun watch to test it though
And then I didn’t! I had *no* idea that Book of Secrets opened secret rooms, or that Abel did more damage with Cain - those are all such great touches! :D Does that mean with the Mind, the book is just free secret rooms every floor?
(Also, whatever you did to spawn the items and enemies you want right on cue was amazing! Was that a mod, or some tricks with the debug console?)
Yes, having The Mind will instantly open up the secret rooms when used.

I think they meant to put "either positive or *neutral* ". Probably just a mistake.
Also book of revelations unless it has been changed because on rebirth it cannot replace mister Fred. But I haven’t encountered it since on any further versions because I haven’t tested
Book of secrets will also highlight tinted rocks in the room it was used in too!
damn i really didn't know at all for the Mom's Wig one, and i have over 1k hours on this game, and it's an item i'm always happy to take, AND i have the external item descriptions mod enabled, how did i not notice that earlier

I think it’s really neat, actually some other mom items heal on pickup iirc and mom’s lipstick drops a red heart, it’s a nice detail probably in reference to mother actually loving Isaac, well, in her own way.
@@dungeaterfancam Mom's Pearls gives a soul heart too, and both Mom's Pearls and Mom's Lipstick hearts bonuses are there since Repentance (unlike Mom's Wig, which is why I am surprised I never noticed that earlier). I agree with you that it prolly is a ref to Isaac's mother's love tho! it's neat and I really love Repentance for that it added so much little details here and there

It's the External Item Descriptions mod.
most of these stuff are also outline in the eid mod
Some people play on console and can't install that mod

Slipped rib can damage flys, the same affect as Pretty fly

Bible lore. Abel was the opppsite od his brother, Cain.
I think the reason why Cain/tainted Cain has an abel damage up is because abel might shoot a certain eye's shot to prevent blood clot damage, but they applied a damage up to Cain's missing eye. Correct me if I'm wrong and/or dumb.
It's because of Bible lore. Abel is Cain's brother.

An even less known effect of Book of Secrets is that it can do the Shiny Rock effect in the room you used it in. So it can possibly find crawlspaces. I presume the reason it went unnoticed for so long is because the effect of Shiny Rock wasn't even functional in Repentance until relatively recently.
Holy shit, now that's really obscure!
Mom's heels on Tainted Maggie is almost S tier, because you get the hug damage AND the heel damage every time, but I believe the heel damage can kill some enemies before the hug can, meaning you don't get the guaranteed heart from the enemy.

Should've mentioned that Book of Revelations doesn't spawn a horseman in the alt floors!
They can't appear there so is obvious, the book only works if the boss cam appear there if in right
Fun fact about book of revelations: you will always get conquest instead of death on floor 4, making it so that you spend many years of your life grinding out the most boring task until you give up

@@gamingmaster6377 to get the bandage girl you need to get the 4 bandage balls, and after like 20 minutes or something u get to womb and u get conquest so u can’t get the achievment
(Luckily if u just use box of friends in boss rush u can get it easy cuz all the charges)

you couldve mentioned about the reverse devil card being able to one shot mom as well, or how host hat can also block projectiles coming from above
I think host hat wasn’t mentioned because blocking above projectiles is nearly its whole function as well as hinted at in its pickup description, whereas spelunker’s main function is for secret rooms so most people wouldn’t even realize it has this additional effect

If i recall, the book of revelations also doesnt make a horseman spawn if a special boss room layout was already generated on the floor.
i.e Fred, Double trouble boss fights, Geidon/the Shell
unless they changed that effect in repentance, but maybe give it a test

Before Repentance the most common special Boss layouts were Double rooms as well as Forgotten Horseman and Fallen
I know that hot bombs does not make you immune to mega Satan's fires. Now that I know pyromanic make you immune to fire I wonder if that work against mega Satan's fires
Hi mr guru, i would like to know if you could make a video talking about differences between Antibirth and what Repentance delivered at the end, not like cut content but a direct comparison
A couple suggestions for the next one:
* Book of Belial grants a damage multiplier in addition to the damage up if you're holding Blood if the Martyr.
* Black Candle removes the teleport effect from Cursed Eye.
* Night Light removes Curse of Darkness when picked up, and removes the visual effect if it happens on a later floor (effectively removing the curse).
* Glaucoma makes the screen slightly darker.
* Shade will cause Isaac to deal contact damage after its been destroyed. That damage is increased by BFFS.
* Stapler causes you to only shoot out of one eye, causing the same minor rule changes that affect Cain.
* Hive Mind increases the size and damage of fly and spider familiars, just like BFFS (it doesn't stack with BFFS sadly).
* If a second copy of Brimstone is picked up, it gains a more powerful beam and unique costume. Each subsequent Brimstone is just a damage up.
* Each copy of Crystal Key you're holding will increase the chance of getting a Red Room, up to 100% at 5 keys.
* Glass Eye has a unique costume where both eyes are replaced if two copies are obtained, although no other benefits.
I feel like at least a fourth of these are known, especially the brimstone and stapler ones
@@FishyTheKobold A lot of the things in this video were also known. I knew absolutely everything in it (although I am a wiki regular). I'm just suggesting other hidden interactions.
The thing is, mom actually dies from the book when you use it, because if you watch one of the endings, a book fell on mom's head, and it was that book
The flames from red candle, blue candle, bird's eye, and ghost pepper can also be used to destroy shopkeepers.

Did you also know that using the poop item will trigger the effects of birds eye and ghosts pepper?
Also works with any item that makes you fart
One thing that's worth noting: if you have hallowed ground the poop will spawn holy poop
Hey i found a bug i cant seem to find anywhere else on the internet. But i was playing tainted isaac and got ludo with moms knife and dropped the item. But when i would enter a room that was the same size (xl rooms didnt work) the knifes from ludo would still be there and deal damage. Edit the additional knives from twisted pair and conjoined were still in place where i had left it before
By the way, if you have Curse of the Lost and use Book of Shadows, it will istantly give you the I can see forever effect. Also, it will skip the mapping effects you already have (Map, Compass, Blue Map), so combined with The Mind for example, it's a guaranteed ICSF each floor!

I just tested this and it doesn't seem to be the case. The curse doesn't help the equation. You must have all other map effects in order for that to happen.
So with the mind it turns into X-ray Vision that takes active space?
Not a very useful one but the tech 1 laser beam scales infinitely in size with damage, it doesn't cap out

EID does not display every piece of information for every single item.
You should also add a few minutes spent on reading descriptions.
And a couple of days/weeks/months actually seeing those items in game.
