Great comparison, thanks for posting. Would love to see it at night time with one IR on manual setting. I had a 520HD which I updated with the DNT firmware and had issues with the camera taking a long time to adjust exposure post update from bright to dark lit scenes. So I returned it under warranty and have a new 520 running the old firmware. So haven't been able to see the new and old firmware side by side at night. I suspect the new firmware is using less video compression, but at night time, with a noisy image due to less light, the old firmware may look fuzzier but less noisy. Certainly in daytime the new firmware seems to have more visible detail, the old looks like looking through fog eg the detail in the bricks is alot better with DNT firmware.
