I try to give a pretty in-depth review so you can better understand what is in the book. I hate reviews where they just skim the book and it doesn't really let you know about the game.
It is kind of funny how this book illustrates the setting. All the artwork I saw here (maybe I'm missing something) is a crew vs monster(s). So it looks more like RPG rule book than a wargame rule book. Or something like coop sort of adventure game like Warhammer Quest. And I must say I would love to see some kind of coop wargame to play along side with my kiddo vs monsters :)
It sounds like the differences are pretty vast, in a bad way. Not in a Warmachine and Horde way, where both are compatible because the UNDERLYING SYSTEM is well fleshed out. With Frostgrave, it feels it was kinda rushed or just not very well thought through (although it works!). And instead of streamlining it and improving it before moving on, they just steam ahead. Even though the Author HIMSELF has said he would do XP differently now then he did in the book. To me they should have simply revisited Frostgrave as a SYSTEM and then build on from here (and yes, release these herritors, that's cool. But with a good foundational system).
Philionaire123 Thanks. I try to do an in-depth review. I've seen too many reviews that just try to skim over info. So I try to let people know more about what is in the book.
Wow, you went through the whole thing. Looks good. Art in the book is amazing!
I love Frostgrave, it's one of my favorite miniatures games.

great review! Osprey should make a Frostgrave RPG.
Great review. Detailed and cleanly discussed. Thank you.
Fantastic review. Will be purchasing this now thanks to you! :)
I've been waiting to hear about this. Sounds interesting. I like the jungle/island setting as well.
brewgeek1 I was thinking how easy it would be to play a rogue trader from 40k using the game mechanics... the ships sound cool.

Must be coming soon then, as someone thats absolutely terrified of wasps, I have to get some eventually :)
Really nice review
