It's absolutely ridiculous and that has happened to me on 187 YX73 OUM a guy thought I was filming him and it made me so upset that I abandoned the rest of my recording and what did you say after they snatched your phone off you as I wasn't able to hear it.
Sorry that happened to you. But after the incident, I got off because I was originally gonna flim this one to Croydon, but because they were going to Croydon aswell I didn't want to be around them on the bus
Well, I got my phone back, and I got off the bus afterwards because they were getting off at Croydon as I was originally gonna a full journey on this bus. I didn't even want to think what would've happened if I stayed on the bus with them as I would've felt uncomfortable
What I advise you to do, mate is to not film whilst passengers are getting on and only film outside the window when the bus is packed. I've been accused of harassment before just for filming the bus with passengers on the forward facing seat once and it attracted a whole load of trolls as well that jump to conclusions.
@its_londontransport well usually I pause the video if more than 6 passengers enter the bus. But I have recently for some of my videos started filming when I'm on the bus

You ARE ALLOWED to record on Buses or anything for that matter if it is something you can publicly access. This assumes you transparently discuss why you're recording. Though remind them that the CCTV is used on buses by 3rd party companies, and you are on at average of 300 times per day. You were wrong for telling them you wasn't recording, when you clearly was. However in this case, it is obvious that you were not directly recording them individually as such. Key point: IT IS PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE. SO YOU CAN PUBLICALLY RECORD.
Tip: when people are entering / exiting the bus just pause the video whilst recording and make your phone face downwards or something (that’s personally what I do)

It was SLN36546. I am very sorry this happened I would have helped you had I gotten on this bus. I ended up jumping on another 314 towards Eltham (SLN 36346).
