There are almost 100 Rousseau videos since the beginning of the channel and only ONE of them is Mozart! It's time to change that! Starting with something almost every pianist has played at least once in their life, the 1st Mvt of his 16th Piano Sonata. Mozart himself wrote and considered the entire sonata "for beginners", and it often serves as as a way for pianists who are just starting out to learn a piece of a longer length. It holds a dear place in many pianists hearts as one of the most recognizable pieces from their youth. Hope your Monday is great ♥
I think when Mozart called it "a piece for beginners" he was basing it on himself. Remember, we are talking about a musician that learned the piano when he was very little, and he composed his first song when he was 5! I am a teen pianist that is starting Level 8 RCM piano, and I am just starting to learn this song. Thanks for this video!
I think this is in fact a really easy sonata though, there are far worse pieces. I'm also a teen piano player and for miracle I managed to make my way in a music high school (My country's entrance exams are hell). The first piece I was given to practice is this, however I entered with Beethoven's Sonata 16 op.31 no.1.

I woke up this morning with this tune in my head and I could not find the name of it. Thank you so much Rousseau for covering this song and having such a well organized channel!!!!
When i was a kid my teacher taught me to play this.. but I couldn't make it perfectly. My teacher always told me that I'm a dissapointing child, and don't have a talent. So This is why I didn't like playing piano. But now listening to this music. It was good and perfect..
True story - my dad was a gifted musician. Somewhere around my age of 5, he brought me to a music teacher for piano lessons in a small class of maybe 5 other kids. After about 10 weeks with this sullen teacher, I played by sight reading a simple two hand exercise. The piece wasn't something with a recognizable melody like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Mary Had a Little Lamb, but just an exercise. My recollection is that I got it right, pretty good for my age. When I finished, I looked up at that teacher, and he turned to the kid on my left and said "your turn". If he at least said "great job!", I might have stuck with it. Right at that moment (60 years ago), I decided I hated it and didn't want to go back. I told my dad and he said fine, don't go. I'm not sure but I think I may have wanted my dad to talk me into going or even making me go back. He said fine don't go and I thought "that was easy". I wonder what kind of pianist I would have become if I had an enthusiastic teacher.
I've loved playing this piece ever since I learned it as a child and played it in church at a concert. I think I only played the first movement then, but now I enjoy all three. Beautiful music, thank you!
I don't know about you guy's but as a piano player for 4 years now, this is actually a good piece to play for beginners. Sadly I didn't know this song existed before I played Fur Elise and Moonlight Sonata Movement 1 for my solo competition as well a few difficult pieces to challenge myself.

I genuinely love playing Mozart piano pieces, because most classical pieces are either easy but too slow/boring or just too hard to play. Mozart pieces are just perfect to play. ✨🎶
@@luna_adesquite8919 That's true, but I mean compared to the harder ones (like Pathetique Sonata mov.3), also I like that Mozart pieces seem to be made with the purpose of making you improve, since as it goes on it gets harder, adding more challenges.
It amazes me how fast you can play this. I'm in sixth grade and learned this as my second classical piece (after Für Elise) and can play at about 1/4 of your speed. I remember listening to this earlier and thinking 'Man, I could never hope to play this!' It did end up to be quite a process, including a couple fits of rage.... Hoping to move on to Rondo Alla Turca, and if it proves difficult, a piano arrangement of the Largo section - No. II - of Winter (Vivaldi). I've just reached/passed 1 year of learning. Slowed down a touch, your videos have been a big help & part of what drew me into piano. Thank you Rousseau!
Maybe you can start off with easier pieces before going to more difficult ones. That way when you go play them you'll be able to play with expressions and have a further understanding of music. Nonetheless what you've achieved is great and good luck!
Awesome dude! Learning is fun. One guy replied "maybe start with easier pieces" and sure maybe, but taken too far, there's also a risk of too-easy which may possibly make the learning slower or un-fun! I wish I spent more of my childhood practicing because it's really cool to have that plastic malleable brain that learns more quickly. Being out of high school (and avoiding university so I can learn better than university teaches people), I still have a pretty young brain and have been practicing a lot of my favorite crafts (programming, drawing, music) to take advantage!
I suffered from infertility tried for so many years to get pregnant. I always prayed to god to please bless me with a child. A week after I found out I was pregnant I found a cross necklace a few steps away from where I worked at and I then knew it was really God all along and never left my side. Heyy mate that is really good😊 I'm also leraning piano by ear and eventhough I can't read sheet music, I will always play and listen to piano pieces. It's my passion❤
If Mozart was alive he would be impressed cause you played his pieces
Its called a piece, not song. Just to remind you
Yonatan Sianipar oop shit I’m so dumb lol
Regardless of u calling it a song 🤣 what a beautiful complement to give someone 💕
Any musician would be happy if you played their song or piece
This is litterally grade 8 ABRSM piece I saw it in my brother's grade 8 exam piece book before
I woke up this morning with this tune in my head and I could not find the name of it. Thank you so much Rousseau for covering this song and having such a well organized channel!!!!
this literally happened to me today.
Me too
Classical music is underrated
Don't you see the views? It ain't.
Compare that to views on pop music videos
nah
It's definitely not underrated but kids are dumb and want to listen to Gucci gang instead
@@NeaonBHB Just because they haven't discovered classical music doesn't mean they're dumb
Wow
I've loved playing this piece ever since I learned it as a child and played it in church at a concert. I think I only played the first movement then, but now I enjoy all three. Beautiful music, thank you!
Amadeus Mozart - The GOAT!
I don't know about you guy's but as a piano player for 4 years now, this is actually a good piece to play for beginners. Sadly I didn't know this song existed before I played Fur Elise and Moonlight Sonata Movement 1 for my solo competition as well a few difficult pieces to challenge myself.
İt looks easy but its a nightmare
@@II-zf3voit is easy for children
It is extremely hard for adults because only children can replicate that happiness
musically it is one of the hardest
@@cps6949 Not just that, the notes look deceivingly easy to play but it's challenging to keep a good rhythm on this piece
this is the first song I actually learned at piano lessons, it's great, and it opened me up to a ton more classical pieces.
(Just a quick btw this wasn't the first first song I've learned and I had a whole quarter year of skill before playing this.
this piece brings back so many memories. It was my first piece that i learned, and what a trip it was. Thank you for this beautiful rendition!

@@evening_sw I attempted them, but then I abandoned the idea since the time to learn them is ridiculously long, but I'm now starting with Scriabin's Sonatas. Anyway I and a friend of mine can play Un Sospiro (Just a bit).
I have trouble imagining someone playing feux follets and not even being a bit famous
@@manuelbesWell, a lot of professionals can, but most of them aren't famous. To be famous you also need to perform a lot... Like a lot... Also being good with technique, doesn't mean that you're good with virtuosism.
I remember many years ago-In High School-When I’d get sad I’d go in the living room close the door & play THIS song as LOUD & FAST as I could over & over…I miss not having my piano…

The visualiser is lovely, and you play beautifully. The lively spirit of Mozart speaks through every note.

Happy 266th birthday to me! 🎂
That's it? I thought he was older than that
I had this as my ringtone on my Nokia flip phone back in the day, fell in love with it since then
"Beginner piece" my ass. This is a solid late-intermediate piece if I'm not mistaken.
i would consider it from late-beginner to mid-intermediate
This is like a beginner to sonatas piece but definitely not a beginner to piano piece
Late intermediate is around Fantasie Impromptu level
That would mean this is as hard as fantasie impromptu
I'm playing this for my RCM Level 8 exam so I'd say late Intermediate too
True musical genius... my favourite composer.
I’ve had this song stuck in my head all day and now it just popped up in my recommendations

How old u are?
u actually played all pieces i want to learn.. ur soo good pianist
I genuinely love playing Mozart piano pieces, because most classical pieces are either easy but too slow/boring or just too hard to play. Mozart pieces are just perfect to play. ✨🎶
Honestly they’re also kinda hard too 😢
@@luna_adesquite8919 That's true, but I mean compared to the harder ones (like Pathetique Sonata mov.3), also I like that Mozart pieces seem to be made with the purpose of making you improve, since as it goes on it gets harder, adding more challenges.
It’s NOT the easiest piece mosart wrote😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I was watching a mother play with her son on tik tok one day I cried and screamed to God "God please give me a child!!!!!" that same day something in me told me to take a pregnancy test... it came back positive! I couldnt believe it I was in tears and in shock!I took more pregnancy tests and they all came back positive! A week after I found out I was pregnant I found a cross necklace a few steps away from where I worked at and I then knew it was really God all along and never left my side. I now have a 11 month healthy beautiful baby boy. He's turning 1 in a few days! ❤ God is good!
Absolutely mesmerizing. Uk the beauty of it touches one's soul. The sonata screams joy.
