    Thanks for watching! Have you used 5200 or Lexel for decoy repair?

    Great video... I use 5200 for this and so many other things. Here's a TIP... when you are done with 3M 5200 put it in the freezer... It will last forever and only takes about 15min. to be soft enough to use after you take it out of the freezer... And YES, 4000 works just fine on waders, decoys anywhere the UV will be present... It's just as good as 5200...

    Used both the fast and slow set. I use the slow set black and set the decoys in the shop to dry. If it’s hot out it takes about half the cure time. Saves some paint

    Will be getting 3M. I’ve always drilled the hole out put a piece of cotton in the hole and fill with superglue.

    Thanks for the video Joel! Must of missed the notification. I've used 5200 to fix decoys, stuff works great. Might have to try the lexel sometime because of the clear application. Thanks again!

    Good vid. Every one of us had good decoys with some holes in them. I have been using marine Goop for years. Clear, gas resistant and stays flexible when cold. It’s clear and you don’t have to touch up paint. Keep it up Joel!

    Hey Joel,
    love seeing this. Back in the day when I couldn't afford new decoys I would ask everyone for their old shot up ones. Over the years I built up a pretty good collection of them. I've done similar things and will 100% be trying this. I've used foam filler for years and have some that are 6 years old and work great. Curious to see your next video and seeing why you don't like it.

    3m 5200 is the bomb for anything water related. They make a clear and a black version.

    Fully agree on Flex Seal. I’ve never had much luck with it on things that actually need to flex! 😄

      @@SurvivingDuckSeason I’ve had good luck with Goop, also. But it’s nowhere near as good as 5200.

    I haven’t used either but I have a decoy that I flocked that has a crack in it. I will be using the lexel since I have it already.

    Just another tip brother... I use a old soldering iron and just melt the plastic together around the how... real quick and easy,,, no mess, no wait time.

    I used 5200 black. Worked great on waders and decoys except the long set time. My tube set up too. I was going to drill it out. Store in a vacuum bag in the fridge ???

    Great! I hav just used TPA glue gun. What type of paint do you paint over the 5200? Acrylic? Oil based rusteolium?

    I am thinking about getting a few packs of speck decoys to add to my duck spread this season. What do you think a good number is to bring them in. Or would just getting good with a speck call over a solid duck speed convince them?

    • @SurvivingDuckSeason
      @SurvivingDuckSeason  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Speck will come in without Speck Decoys, but rarely without good calling. I’ve shot plenty speck over duck decoys. The best scenario is to both having speck decoys and calling well. A dozen mixed with your duck decoys should work for you.
