- Intelligence services are transforming due to changing dynamics in security and information collection. Services may undergo transformation due to crimes such as cross-border terrorism, international smuggling and drug trafficking. Institutions can employ instruments such as hiring personnel specialized in different languages and cultures, special units for open source intelligence, advanced surveillance technologies, cryptology, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
