Bought my all original 1972 in Ohio. From a guy that rode it year round. He had a canoe side car on it that said looking for big chested women. On the back of the canoe it said this canoe stops for all big chested women. Bike fires and idles just like yours. Starts in two kicks. Cold or hot. I absolutely love the bike. My dad bought if for me before he passed away.
I had a 72 when I was a young man. I wasn't smart or learned enough at the time to know what was original and what wasn't. It was all blackand had a Super E on it. It was a good running, idling bike for the most part. I can't for the life of me remember what the tank badges looked like. Most of the chrome had been stripped off as I remember. I'm gonna dig through some old pictures. This video got me thinking....
I have the same bike. Color is "Sparking blue ". Owned it 16 years. Still got it. Rusty as hell, but I like the look. Rat dresser. 72 was first year front disk brake. Wouldnt want to sell it unless someone offered $ 10k. Way too much fun!!
Lovely machine, you're right, the motor sounds great. High performance mods messed up many of these shovel heads, Great to see one so stock and original.
HuntingHarleys Belive it until just a 5years ago...I owned an exact twin of this bike...In Ohio...It was & still is in better condition. Still running around town with its original paint & show room parts...I was the second owner...Bought it in the mid 80's. Broke my heart to sell her...health reasons..
