    To be honest I think Russia's tank reserves have been overestimated. The same with AFV and artillery. Its ok counting storage parks but after years out in the open how many can be made functional. Looking at various satellite photographs you can see tanks without turrets, engines , tracks etc. How much of a rebuild do the tanks need to get them back in service?

    • @sirsmeal3192
      @sirsmeal3192 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exposed barrels, for sure. Expect a loss on the lower side of the barrel of enough rust to allow a failure to seal around a fired shell. Engine parts are probably rusted enough to sieze.

    • @wishingb5859
      @wishingb5859 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree. The numbers of everything have been wildly inflated. Including what they say they are producing per year. They counted refurbishment as production the past two years and now it is becoming obvious. The French researchers had given a pessimistic scenario of Russia would have gotten down to 250 tanks by Spring of 2024 at the loss of 12 per day (which Russia was losing during the Fall and Winter). Their optimistic scenario was based on adding in 1500 tanks to replace the ones lost in battle. No way that happened.

    The current State Department and Jake Sullivan's policy are reminiscent of the Vietnam War. During the war, all air targets in North Vietnam had to be approved by the President Johnson with certain areas in North Vietnam completely "out of bounds" for all military attacks. Needless to say many hundreds of US aircraft and personnel were lost as SAM sites in these protected areas were off limits by order of the President. It wasn't until Operation Linebacker II by President Nixon that eliminated these protected areas and after 11 days of unlimited bombing of these areas did the North Vietnamese return to the negotiation table. This analogy with current State Department/Sullivan policy reminds me of the disastrous results now as they did then. This shows that history does indeed repeat itself unless we learn from past lessons. Sullivan need's to pull his head out of his ass as he has rectal myopia.

    Hello Jonathan and ATP team.
    Have a great day.
    My 2 cents is that the Abrams is having maintenance problems due to the age of the vehicles supplied by the US. Delivery of spares is problematic so down time is high.only 31 or so M1A1s supplied.
    The Bradley are sent in batches of 100s.
    So more of them can be stripped for support parts.
    The videos show no more than 1 or 2 Bradleys' used at any time against Russian BMPs or tanks , neither side is using company sized units of tanks and MICV's in the attacks and counter attacks.

    With Ukraine taking out one of Russia's space satellite and communications nets what do you think the implications will be. They have 4 of these and should Ukraine manage to take out another one then it could affect Russia's abilities to communicate with their military satellites. W is already a timed unit j/s so Like when 1 part of our powerplant has 1600MW "strength" it and the whole plant produces 15 TW's per year. So maybe he is talking about the output "strength". So if you run the plants for 1 hour you get that amount of GWh, then if the plants need to produce that or able to produce the number is another question but its like when you plan a solar panel system you plan according to KWp and not KWh.
    Forget what I said, I assume that if you would run those plants for 1 hour at max capacity you would get the number he said in GWh, KWh and so on. So he is talking about whatever it is called in eng, the potential of the plants.

    • @Dinna-beDaft
      @Dinna-beDaft 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Long range drones are slow and fairly easy to shoot down. There is good air defence around the airfields unlike, say oil refineries. Aircraft can also take off or be moved if they know the drones are coming. On some of the airfields the aircraft are moved position several times a day as a precaution.

    • @sirsmeal3192

Lets just say 80% of Ukraine is demanding Yermak immediately be fired and/or immediately arrested. It can carry conventional and nuclear warheads up to 700 kg and employs a maneuverable re-entry vehicle (MaRV) and decoys to defeat theater missile defense systems. In Russia tests are falsified all the time to trigger payouts from government contracts. Systemic corruption makes all their stuff overrated and unreliable. Very often, when you play a YT clip the volume is so low, it"s inaudible. Your narration at the time is fine to hear.
    I wonder if this is because you adjust the clip volume whilst listening through headphones?
    Not sure if I"m the only one with this experience. Nor am I audio expert enough to suggest technical tweak. As an avid (loudspeaker), listener I thought I'd tell you.
