i am an ex muslim born and raised in a bangladeshi muslim family in London, UK. I was fully indoctrinated into islam from birth like most muslims children. I was very devout and prayed 5 times a day, wore a hijab, and read the quran daily, which eventually led me to spend most of my teens and 20s, questioning and studying islam indepth, directly from the quran and sunnah,
Eventually i realised that this was a terrible religion and cannot possibly be from any true god or divine entity, and that as a conscientious human being, i could no longer believe in, practice, or support islam in any way, because of the quranic permission/allowance for horrific practices such as child marriage, wife beating, sex slavery and many other disturbing issues and problems within islam.
Over the years, i also became an avid reader of history, and realised that islamic indoctirnation of my family, over the past few generations, since they converted, had alienated and disconnected us from our orginal ancestral culture, ie that of Bharat or India, and its many ancient spiritual traditions, commonly and collectively reffered to as 'hinduism'.
I realised that we are Bengali Bharatiyas of the ancient civilisation of Bharat, and our native spiritual traditions and culture, have been incorrectly re-labelled as a religion called 'Hinduism', which allowed for true freedom of thought and religion to believe in whatever you feel is right for you, even if it meant that you dont believe in any god or spirituality, you are still a 'hindu' or indian, because the word hindu, until modern times, was always a geographical term like the word indian, to describe the culture of the people of the sub continent, and spirituality or religion was simply one component of it, and that because the spritiual aspect of this culture allowed for freedom of thought and beliefs, millions of different traditions of pathways to the divine sprang up in every corner of Bharat, due to the freedom to question and figure things out for yourself, because fundamentlly within our culture, we believed that every soul had the divine authority to choose whether to believe or not, and still remain a part of their native and inclusive 'hindu' culture.
For example, even if you are an atheist, you are still a 'hindu' or 'indian', because 'hinduism' is not just a religion, but a truly pluralistic market place of millions of spiritual ideas, pathways and philosphical thought and questioning. I also learned how islam indoctrinated our people into ilsam, sowed the seeds of division and hatred for the 'kaffir hindus' and violently tore our motherland into pieces, in order to create islamic countries during partition and later Bangladesh. We stopped recognising ourselves as part of our wider native culture and identity which was alwasy hindu, not just in the spiritual sense, but also in the civilisational sense.
Bangladeshis, are basically hindus or indians, high on islam. Pakistanis are also, basically hindus or indians of different regional indian groups such as punjabis, Balochis, Sindhis etc, all high on islam. After partition, and because of islam, we have been made to forget who we really are, and that we are all people of one civilisational motherland, Bharat, and a ancient culutre that has always nurtured diverse regional languages, customs and pathways to exist as one.
As a bangladeshi muslim growing up, we were taught to hate india and hindus, and made to think that we as bangladeshi muslims are different, and we are not indian (bharatiya) and that we are different and better than the indians and hindus etc. This is something that islam does to the psyche of all converted people. It alienates and turns them away from their own native heritage and identity, and makes them antagonistic towards it, especially, if the previous culture was the worst type of kaffir infidels, such as the 'idol worshipping hindus'. Imagine if here in the Uk a vast number of english people suddenly convert to islam and then over many generations, they adopt islamic middle eastern culture, and are taught to abdandon their english culture and heritage, because it is kaffir and haram, and over time, they start to believe they are differenrt and better than the rest of the english, who didnt convert and remained connected to their english identity.
ALso, imagine if the majority english muslims, were brainwashed into being hostile towards the rest of their non muslim english brothers and sisters, to the point were they no longer identified with them, nor wanted to live side by side with the english people of their own ancestral culture, simply because they are kaffirs, and now the english msulisms want to tear away a piece of the UK territory to create their own islamic state, because they feel it is haram to live under kaffir english rule!
This is what happened to India after 1400 years of islamic invasion and colonisation, forced conversions, desecration of temples, enslavement of hindu men, women and children, hate fuelled genocide and bloodbath, which was described by some historians as the bloodiest episode in human history. But unlike in other parts of the world, where islam succeeded in destroying and obliterating the native cultures, in india, islam did not fully succeed nor accomplish its objective of total Ghazwa E Hind.
India survived, bruised and battered, looted and plundered, but with the majority of its people, still connected and practicing their native and ancient spiritual culture, which in modern times, is now called 'hinduism'. India is the only ancient civilisation that has survived the christian, islamic colonisation, while most others have been wiped out, and remnants of their heritage exist now only in musems, or their few people exist as marginalised minorities living in reservations, in their own countries, while the descendants of their invaders/colonisers rule over them.
What we are seeing start to happen in europe and the UK, is just the beginning of what india has suffered for over a millennia, since coming into contact with islam. Europe's contact with muslims within its own borders, is still in the early stages, but the demographic shift is already being felt, even while muslims are still a minority, they are still beginning to assert themselves, and we are seeing sectarian violence and vote bank politics starting to happen in the UK. When they reach larger numbers, then they will demand domination and take over of territory for the creation of an islamic state.
I am still in the process of learning about and re-connecting to my ancient ancestral Bharatiya culture and its spiritual teachings on my own terms, and everyday i learn something new and am constantly shocked at the horrors and lie, and injustice and confusion that have been perpetrated against Bharat and the identity of its people and their ancient heritage, even up to modern day, by the giverning instituions of india itself, which is full of eurocentric colonial programming, and blatant islamic bias.
Bharatiyas have been confused about who they are. Their cultural identity has been turned into a religion, in order to create division between them and their fellow Bharatiyas who happen to be muslims, when in fact, they are 'hindu' or indian muslims. The people of pakistan, bangladesh and afghanistan, despite the layer of islam, are all people of one civilisationa culture and identity, since ancient times. It is islam that has come along and seperated us and stifled our native indigeneity.
I hope we all start to recognise who we are - that regardless of which side of the modern day artificially created borders we happen to be born into, or which language we speak, be it, bengali, punjabi, pashtun, sindhi. tamil, or kashmiri, we are all children of Bharat Mata. Peace and namaste!
