Massive props to John. Him and Gary were/are an amazing rythm section and it's really not easy to keep a structure going when singers stop singing, throw their guitars etc.
I'm so glad to hear John's perspective on things since he's usually the quiet one!! Thank you so much for doing this interview it was real great to watch, libs forever ♡
Absolutely love the libs, was too young when the scene first kicked off so to have this podcast constantly getting these great guests on is so good for getting an idea of what it was like
Love John and loved the Libs but this was a painful listen, could do with speeding it up! So many rubbish questions asked as well. What a missed opportunity!
Reni n Mani surely in there too. They could certainly lay a groove. "The most patient rhythm section in the biz" I remember someone saying about John and Gary.
Hmm, yeah great interview but just doesn't compare to the good ol' ones with the likes of zade frost or the Zane low stuff when the boys were on top form and the world's camera lenses were buzzing round them like a bunch of bees on fire. Personally I thrive a little off watching these old interviews and because I'm of that age I can drink in that fine mead because I'm of the same vintage. Great interview you managed to somehow keep that flow going which is good because it was such a inspirational time for so many. No other city than that of London could give birth to such a fiery and beautiful mess that the libertines were.
John is one hell of a bass player and truly underrated. And I'm sure has the patience of a saint.

Couldn’t agree more
Thank god for this channel! Another great interview with another great guest. Love John's personality
Fkn brilliant stuff mate more bands should be fkn doing this! The story’s and history should be shared!
Ace cheers mate.
Was a huge fan of Yeti back in the day! Massively underrated band. A reunion would be amazing
The first band that I saw live. They were great. The Legend of Yeti Gonzales rocks.
Have you checked out John's new band John Hassall and the April Rainers ?
@@lewistyler462 Oh, I had their album but I never got to see them live. They were a great band.
Another brilliant interview. It’s great that you can arrange these! Really insightful.

what a jawline
Fantastic interview!
Great flow
Love the libs. Is John unwell here. He seems very tired /bored. Do love this pod cast. The good old days
Mr Charisma
This is painful to watch. He seems pretty out of it. Is he always like this?
Great channel. When will Pete or Carl be on guys?
Yeti and The April Rainers are both great. Intercity 125 is a cracking song.
I thought he was so chill in the libs
“I went to school with Johnny Borrell”
“So how did you know Johnny Borrell then?”
“…we went to school together?”
Nice one.
He'd put a glass eye to sleep 😴
Gabi Garbutt, DSM, yeah John 💯

Also though. Safe to say John and Gary are up there with the likes of the ox and Keith. Excellent, excellent rhythm section. Top notch

John has a very narrow neck.
Or a really wide head?
