I like when he talks about PASSION. You gotta be able to do something that you comes to you naturally because you love it so much! It doesn't mean it's perfect (YOU WILL WORK HARD AT IT), but loving it will make the process that much more enjoyable!
3:25 - Why is it that English "analysts" fail to understand that building up from the back is critical to maintaining possession and creating space for forward players. It really is stubborn ignorance to think that kick and rush is more practical than possession football.
Though Guardiola is not my favorite coach (that would be Jurgen Klopp), I admire him because he wants to win playing with a great offensive style against every team they face. The style of every team coached by Guardiola has always been that: we'll play our game, no matter the rival in front of us. That shows conviction. And when you get good results, then fulfilment is inevitable. And in this era of modern football (... and in Life) that means a lot to me, because many just want to win no matter what, people forget that HOW you win is almost as important. Winning is cool, but winning by your terms and principles is far better in my opinion. See Real Madrid, they go all offense against weaker teams, but against the big guys they hide. Or teams coached by Mourinho, they build a great offensive football against weak sides, but against the strong they hide away too. Pep teams always show the same face against every rival... to me that makes him better. If he falls, at least he didn't betray his beliefs. Good vid Evan! True! Truthfully I may not like it all the time; there are times where I wish Pep puts more emphasis on good defending; but you're very right, at least he was consistent and honest about his football philosophy, the reason why City appointed him as our first team manager. -Man City Fan
okflyaway99 What do you mean by that? Pep's teams do not concede many goals. In fact his teams probably concede the fewest goals in Europe. His defending is not relying on big, strong guys to tackle and out-muscle opponents in 50/50 situations. His defending is: 1st - not allowing the other team to play with the ball; 2nd - try to recover the ball as soon as you lose by pressing high and forcing the opponents to make a mistake and give the ball away; 3rd - Teach your players to position themselves and move without the ball in a way, that allows them to close all channels and intercept the ball, or force the opposition to pass the ball back towards their own half. Pep's teams have outstanding defensive record.
But hiding is also a way of being offensive. There are many ways to skin a cat. Kind of interesting you want to compare with Mourinho why not not compare with Tony Pulis. This obsession with Jose is mind boggling!!!
Ohhh the Irony?...the Hypocrisy!!...He was Never great he bought his teams the way City do today, only difference being he's some kind of god for doing it lol. He touched lucky with one team in the 90s and built on it adding a very expensive player here and there...History??...my arse. What A Manager , for me . After Johan Cruyff , he's the best and I'm from Madrid . Everyone here liked that Barca coz it took the Rivalry for us to Next Level unlike Previous Managers who were clueless . He makes players n he's not scared of using New Kids at all . Many of The players in city squad were nothing before he bought them but look at then now. Those players now can play in any system n that's the best part of Gaurdiola. After a huge loss against Bayern ,he changed his game entirely . Now he doesn't play Tiki - taka n it's more Dynamic from Passes to Build Up to Ball Recovery . The Football he played at Bayern was Something else though Bayern couldn't win the UCL but he provided those players a good vision of the game. People Claim him to be the Cheque book managers never saw a cheque book manager in their life. Mourinho's real Cheque book manager coz he never ever used New players , he always bought players in every team he went n played a football that nobody enjoys. When he arrived at Madrid ik he's gonna waste years here. When inter beat Barca , they played the football that 10 YO plays in Play Station . That wasn't football , Simeone when he he beat Anfield was way better than that Aeroplane Parking . Got lucky with the win there. Pep's style of football provides u intense football with Proper game plans. Another Manager that I really Like is Wenger n in the history of P.L , I'd choose him over anybody coz of the same reason. He didn't get the support of arsenal or he could have been the best Manager of P.L ( Trophies wise ). Ferguson had financial support n he had players who were big even before they reached United. At the end , it's a game of luck at times. Sometimes u get lucky with wins n sometimes not.

What A Manager , for me . After Johan Cruyff , he's the best and I'm from Madrid . Everyone here liked that Barca coz it took the Rivalry for us to Next Level unlike Previous Managers who were clueless . He makes players n he's not scared of using New Kids at all . Many of The players in city squad were nothing before he bought them but look at then now. Those players now can play in any system n that's the best part of Gaurdiola. After a huge loss against Bayern ,he changed his game entirely . Now he doesn't play Tiki - taka n it's more Dynamic from Passes to Build Up to Ball Recovery . The Football he played at Bayern was Something else though Bayern couldn't win the UCL but he provided those players a good vision of the game. People Claim him to be the Cheque book managers never saw a cheque book manager in their life. Mourinho's real Cheque book manager coz he never ever used New players , he always bought players in every team he went n played a football that nobody enjoys. When he arrived at Madrid ik he's gonna waste years here. When inter beat Barca , they played the football that 10 YO plays in Play Station . That wasn't football , Simeone when he he beat Anfield was way better than that Aeroplane Parking . Got lucky with the win there. Pep's style of football provides u intense football with Proper game plans. Another Manager that I really Like is Wenger n in the history of P.L , I'd choose him over anybody coz of the same reason. He didn't get the support of arsenal or he could have been the best Manager of P.L ( Trophies wise ). Ferguson had financial support n he had players who were big even before they reached United. At the end , it's a game of luck at times. Sometimes u get lucky with wins n sometimes not.
