I disagree, it ended with a time skip 10 years later or so showing them living happily, the author really loved the series but wanted to move on so they decided to give it an end instead of forcing more volumes with lower quality and no sensible plot. the story they had thought of was finished and they didn't want to ruin it trying to make it longer, I agree with them
