a way that make sense for me approaching this: characters after being release in 2 patch ago will be added to the standard. and the chances would be split when u got a standard: 40% getting the standard characters we have rn and the rest 60% chance getting the limited who got transfer to the banner. the 60% chances will get divide even more like in that 60% chance 10% is the characters who just got transfer to the standard, 20% is the ones 3 patches ago, and 30% for characters 4 or more patches ago. so the chances are still very rare. and they add the birthday banners for 3 days or max a week in the limited pulls which can be spend with gold tickets or standard tickets but the standard tickets will cost twice to get the same amount of pulls as gold. and add another banner in rotation like kinda like genshin chronicle but just one character, like each patch 1 character who got added in the standard pull will rerun for the whole patch for players to get outside their birthday and the add the 300 pulls = 1 standard thing but forever but after the 1st time, it becomes 500 pulls. ofc the jades we get and the amount of pulls and pity i didnt consider but just an idea
I think there should be a seperate standard banner where you can set a path for the old 5* beacuse some people want older charcters, and some old charcters are still meta relevant (Ex. Kafka, Jing yuan after sunday)
Tbh, i don't think they should add 5 stars to the standard, but i would totally want a 4 star rate-up selector, not even one, but 3 just like the premium banners. That would make getting standard pulls way more exciting and we wouldn't have to pull in banner we don't want instead of risking losing our garantees
My idea is this: 1. Release a new character 2. After either A. Unlocking the character, or B. A (couple of) version(s), put them in standard banner. 3. Allow a rotating limited rate-up banners that include both those rotated out characters and their signature light cones. (ex. Blade rerun banner includes both him and his LC, etc. an argument could be made to separate them but, I don't know if there's going to be any significant impact because of this. Reason being that they've most likely already been balanced out/powercrept at this point, especially for DPS units.) 4. Repeat. If standard, it might oversaturate the pool, but it honestly don't really matter much. There's an argument as to why this could be problematic, because you're essentially collectively lowering the rates of the characters subsequently included in the pool but, I don't think it'll affect much the whales' and/or F2P players' willingness to spend. Otherwise, it'll likely have to share pity with the limited banners.
I think it would be very confusing if they did add that somehow but they should continue to add the three rerun banners like how they did in 2.5 so people had more options for who they wanted and it would be more organized if you know what I mean.
youd be fine with losing the 50 50 to the same characters over and over again? its already gotten redundant a year into the game but long term itd only be downhill unless they change something up
I think they can't do that because they advertised the character as "limited." As far as I know, that would be false advertising if they made past 5* limited character as standards. Furthermore, many chinese who c6r5 those characters will surely complain

4 patch difference is too soon for a game like star rail. maybe once were in 5.0, some of the 2.x units could get added, and when were in 6.0, some of the 3.x units can be added, etc

They all need buffs. If you expand the standard banner then the 1.0 characters become even more useless.
Its just better to have older character reruns at a reduced cost
