Wait, Did I understand that right?.. a plastic chassis? If it's about realism , all the way down to the metal stock looking wheels , WHY wouldn't you do a metal chassis ? ( Reenforced or not)
Good point. It is $330 though. I suspect it has something to do with the complex bending of the chassis rails. It's pretty unique as it really narrows/widens like a 1:1 rail.
I have re-watched the video and it is not all just doom. But why make the rails out of multiple plastic parts and then add metal stiffeners? First thing that comes to my mind are stripped mounting points as one may find themselves taking parts off and putting them back on while fine tuning the suspension or such - and plastic threads do not like to be used much and will tend to strip much faster. Again - it will be a while until this will be reasonably available to us folks in Europe, so by then there surely be a few detailed build videos. I keep my fingers crossed, but I am not convinced yet.
@@rquino4210k this is a headache waiting to happen if you buy this..look at the axles the chassis all around looks cheap and the ball was dropped by a company that had years to get this right...
Well, the two videos I have seen on this new chassis (pre production models) were, sadly, not very encouraging - they apparently went the cheap way, for whatever reason. That is a pity, because Boom Racing does not offer locking diffs (something I think makes a lot of sense on scale rigs) and buyers who go for $100+ super scale body would most likely appreciate a higher end chassis. I would be watching reviews and user experiences closely. Definitely would not want to be an early adopter. But maybe it was intended more for those that want a functioning chassis for their super scale rig, but actually don't drive it too hard. EDIT: Of course I hope I am completely wrong :)
At $330... this is pretty incredible so far. It's not Gucci metal but it's not $600 either. Very cool to see some new approaches and features on this chassis

Super ultra scale. Going straight for the throat of RC4WD. Very nice.
Ultra scale and very good value at $330.
Hopefully more reliable than RC3WD

300 usd for leaking parts ?
Most of the competition is at $600+. We'll see if they sort that pre-production issue out.

The price point is the answer. Unless they wanted it to be a $600 rig, they had to pick their battles where they could.
