I can appreciate when a mod aims to make a game more challenging.
But when someone's idea of "challenging" is just putting instakill enemies in every single room, that's a different story. I'm impressed that you have the patience for this. I certainly wouldn't.
Oh it gets alot more insane later on. People have actually completed this on the harder difficulties
yeah its not challenging,it just straight up frustrating
id be less bothered by the instakill enemies if there werent dozens of super salvadors spawned in front of various loading points. im half certain the reason most dont have chainsaws isnt just to differentiate the 2, but to make them skip the revving animation to swing sooner which is 99% softlock material (ive seen some people escape these at the expense of half an hour of resets until they just happened to point and shout first)
Not even just insta kill. Because it’s one thing to add another Salvador or Verdugo. Fine. I’ll play my hand. But when they add several extra archers and or RPG guys… that shit is literal cancer.
I know what you’re saying but there is a market for unfair frustrating games. There are a lot out there.
Man, the editor does sure make this mod seem "reasonable", can't wait for the next pain inducing parts.

Prepare yourself for the castle. It will be something. Did you saw gods bicep playthrough of this? That mod took to him 10 months to beat, on the difficulty after this one, and the difficulty after professionnal, is not even the last difficulty, the last difficulty is named, impossible, no reticle, enemies are 15 or 20% faster, less ammo etc

I don't think the most brutal resident evil 4 mod is a fair description, I have felt this way since part 1 but it seems to rely on hidden items, abusing mechanics, and enemies with 1 hit kills but massively bloated hp.... seems more just like an unfair/impossible challenge since it has soft locks well designed stuff should avoid soft locks (I think even ultra hard stuff like I wanna be the guy, and I wanna be the boshy didn't really have soft locks from what I have seen)
not blaming the mod, bawkbasoup may have missed stuff, not upgraded the correct stats etc... just seems more accurate to call it an unfair or impossible challenge vs brutal

I saw the full, optimized playthrough of this mod and I'll say it's a pure, unadulterated kusoge. Technically you can beat it but it requires full exploitation on everything. Your movement must be perfect, your timing must be perfect, you must switch weapon at the exact moment. One wrong move and you'll have to do it again.
A game or a mod that leaves absolutely no room for error also means no room to improve. Simply put, a garbage mod.
I'm fine with an "ultimate test of skill" sort of deal, but the softlocks that are included are the real gear grinder here for me.
Modders think they're being clever pulling shit like this. Anyone can spawn a load of enemies and swap out a few assets to make it seem interesting, but they're not playtesting it for balance, which is where the real skill is. There's difficult, and then there's completely obnoxious bordering on incompetent.
@@StuTubed What's worse, there really are elitists that would unironically praise these kind of mods only because they are masochistic enough to endure its stupidity and so in their own minds, elevated their prestige over the unwashed masses AKA normal, reasonable players.
On the default difficulty of the mod "very hard" it's pretty hard, but there is absolutely room for error, a lot actually to the point where I was almost at the end and restarted on Ultra hard as my inventory was full of magnum and just becomes a shooting range which to be fair is not my favourite part towards the end. Playing ultra hard or impossible is when you really have to play most rooms to the fullest, bawk put the difficulty to the easiest difficulty, being Normal, leagues easier than the default, see for yourself
- Enemies with 50% Less Life.
- Items accumulate 4x in the suitcase.
- Knife has 0.3 more damage than the original. (Total: 1.3)
The softlocks are due to skipping enemies, you're supposed to kill them, not run past them like in every randomizer run lmao.
@@Cybervirus212 But the fact that you *can* softlock without meaning to is just not fun.
Locking or blocking forward progression is fine as a design choice - as long as the player has the tools to remove that lock or block (i.e. kill all the enemies) and not throw away the metaphorical key to that lock without realising it (such as leaving an enemy that instant kills you on re-entering the room without a chance to survive).
