Neil sang at my grandparents wedding anniversary gala.... He was 1 of the NICEST, funniest, most genuine entertainers around and he sang for them simply as a favor to a friend... Lovely man and it was one heck of a party!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Colleen, how lucky your grandparents had such a wonderful wedding anniversary gala. I had a feeling that Neil Sedaka was genuine especially when he sings some of his wonderful songs.
Such a class act. I was born in 87 in scotland so I had only ever heard of Carol through Anne, then in 97 my family and I visited Florida and one night when I was bed bound from sun burn and exposure they showed a rerun of the Carol Burnett show and I just loved it.
Always brings back great memories. I watched Carol Burnett, Dean Martin and Andy Williams religiously every episode of every season. When television was great.
She is the best we love you Carol Burnett. every Saturday night we turn you on.. Great memories of family watching the show and we all laughing.. It was great!
This may have been one of her very best shows !! Carol Burnett made it all look easy, but she was working very hard to put on a fabulous show, and they always were !! 😀😀😃😃
I guess the missing footage is a song by Neil Sedaka that they could not clear the rights to. Sedaka was having comeback in the mid-seventies with hits like "Bad Blood" and "Laughter in the Rain". Don't know why those would be expensive, though.
Somehow I had never even heard of Neil Sedaka. You know who I wish Carol would've had, whom I don't think she ever did, was Al Jarreau. She had Steve and Eydie on about every other week towards the end, along with a regular stable of semi-regulars.
It's not a huge deal to me but something was removed here from the commercials spoof sketch in this episode; it originally didn't end with Neil and the dish liquid bit ... there was some other kind of ending for the skit that probably involved a jingle being sung. I remember seeing this sketch on TBS and also Nick at Nite some years back. But I don't remember how the actual sketch finished, or which song they did. Anyway, it's interesting what has to be edited because of intellectual property and all that.
Actually, on Carol's show, each main cast member had (differently colored) cue cards-- but I don't think the cards were needed much. These talented folks learned and rehearsed the dialogue, blocking, song lyrics, choreography, and everything else during the week ... then taped it twice on Friday in front of people. It was definitely different from SNL where every cast member seems to be looking out at their lines most of the time (it seems especially prevalent in the more recent seasons, from the little I've seen of their sketches).
I do the same as her when I wanna appear wearing jewelry. Either only earrings or a necklace but never both. Would be looking too much. Glad to see someone agrees to that theory. 🤗
Her commercials skits were my favorite as well as the Carol ,Christy and Roger skits. Loved the whole group of regulars. But I couldn't stand the oldest man nor Tudball and Wiggins. Which is odd because I just loved Tim Conway.
29:30 - Tim does a great job playing a stereotypical CEO who makes millions per year but bores the pants off all who are unlucky enough to have to listen to him.
It s incredible how the audience changed in between 10 years! The fashion ,the hair, the way of interacting and being cool
OMG Carol you’ve worked SO hard. I hope you read this and know how much the world has appreciated you. Love from Cape Town x
Bob Mackie really made some glamorous outfits for Carol. ♥️

Watched all of her shows then; and now can’t get enough of rewatching; that’s true talent and internment; they don’t have it anymore.

im sorry but that is the most scottish thing to be bed bound over
You can really tell we fail in the compassion department

מ
Such glossy production values!!! And Carol is still around in her 90's, doing creative things!!!
Loved the skit when Carol couldn't stay awake, especially when she put the eggs on her eyes. Hysterical!!!🤣🤣🤣
In the IRS sketch, the back cover of Carol's book gives away the ending of the sketch.
Tears of gratitude!!! Thank you so much for filling my life with uplifting episodes.
I've been waiting for this episode!! The skit when Carol can't stay awake is hysterical. I haven't seen it since it first aired but I still remember!
I thought it was a hoot too :)
I feel the same way. I can't stay awake myself. I'm just an old sleepyhead
Surely the BEST show ever. Well done, Carol

American Consolidated Amalgameted Incorporated!!!
Wow, truer words never spoken...
Espectacular... 👏👏👏
I love this show
Okay so they switched Carol with a dummy when the lights were off? That was a great sight gag!
The skit at 17 minutes foretold of TH-cam Ads lol
Great sketch re taxes.
Please add the full episode Season 11, Episode 4 from October 15, 1977. It has the only The Family sketch that was never released. Overnight Guest.

Honey, you just know she was sick of doing that Tarzan yell😭
I'm probably the only one, but I cringe when she does the tarzan yell.
@@quietrain7340 I cringe when she gets asked to do it like ohhhh brother let her be 😭😂
I can't decide between the one where she had the voice crack or shots rang out and she fell or the one where she said take that Farrah!! 😂😂
Exelente
Great physical comedy.

Very cool show.
You know what I like... They are not reading from cue cards.. like snl...
Hi Canuck 👍👀

They had cards. Carol said so many times in the intros and other times.
Definitely used cue cards. But they’re pros so you can’t tell and they did improvise a lot
@@sambrownsings Sometimes you can tell. I've watched reruns.
Cool
Three Tim Conway skits I have not seen before.
Genial 🥳🤩😜
Amazing 🤩
I love this
Buena produccion, excelente artista
I really liked the boring executive at 3 am. Whole Skit. I don't know how anybody could keep a straight face
HARVY, OH HARVY YOU ARE MISSED ...
Muy brillante unica.... 👏👏👏
Excelente video 👍
🥰🥰🥰
Not entirely full. The Product Placement sketch is missing its ending: a parody of "Look For the Union Label."
Are we going to all ignore that Tim Conway looked EXACTLY like Daryl Dragon ?
I ignore him every chance I get....
Who is Daryl Dragon?
@@quietrain7340
Type it in TH-cam search bar.
Exactly? No. Kinda? Yes absolutely.
The flamenco very very funny
Que bella😊
Very nice 😎
Qué bonito!
Excelente, unica
hermoso concierto!
That Worlds most Largest Gold Fish Food market, must be a tough one to invest in.😎
Didn't Neil perform a solo song on this episode? It may be edited out.
es muy bueno
I do the same as her when I wanna appear wearing jewelry. Either only earrings or a necklace but never both. Would be looking too much. Glad to see someone agrees to that theory. 🤗
Can anyone tell me if Carol is wearing a wig at the beginning of the show when she's talking to the audience !!!!?????
Her commercials skits were my favorite as well as the Carol ,Christy and Roger skits. Loved the whole group of regulars. But I couldn't stand the oldest man nor Tudball and Wiggins. Which is odd because I just loved Tim Conway.
Love that dress. It's like my curtains.
Genial
Which songs were cut out?
Que increible mujer , muy divertida
Me encanta
