I don’t understand… I wouldn’t say it’s comparable to the Dark Knight. I would give Dune a 7.5 out of 10. The score is good, and the set/costume design is good, but the plot is a very typical plot and there is not enough complexity to compare it to the Dark Knight. I’m sure the book is better, and that I probably should read the book, but the movie alone is simply “good”, not amazing.

Denis said he casted Timothée because he had a tchat with him when they were at Cannes 3 years ago. He said that he was impressed by timothee intelligence and culture. he said ‘’ he is interesting, very interesting, I knew he would be smart enough to understand Paul Character’’
So cute especially in the beginning when Z knew the fact that Timothée always references the dark knight as his “cinematic immersion” or distinct moment of knowing he wants to give acting his all

Without seeing the movie, and being an enormous fan of the source material I cant express the appreciation I have for Dennis and his passion for Dune to take on this project and agreeing to take a chance to film just the first half of the book. I have been a huge fan of his since blade runner 2049 and am on edge to see what his vision of what in my opinion is the greatest tale in science fiction. Again, without having seen the film I have the upmost confidence that he may very well be the only director that has the ability to bring this IP to the screen.
I think we can say that he put a lot on a personal level into this film. What else can a fan ask for than an adaptation that someone who understands and wants to preserve the essence? I can't wait any longer. I want to see it.

I’m happy it’s only Part 1 because Dune needs a huge canvas. This will be the first filmseries that will take the time to truly tell the whole story. The details that are not understood by many at the start will be & years from now this will be understood as a gateway to film’s evolution.
Mamoa is just so damn likable, you can tell he's so burnt out and sick. But as soon as he gets the chance to talk about the movie he just lights up. Such a class act.
Denis said he only envisioned Chalamet playing the part of Paul and there might have been no dune without Timothee and I felt that. Conversely, Zendaya was forced to audition for the role and wasn't just given the role but after he worked with her, Denis said he is sorry that he made her audition and he can't wait to work with her on a larger scale as the main protagonist in the second installment and I felt that too
She wasn’t forced to audition. She heard about the film before they were casting for Chani and asked to meet with Denis, after screen tests and chemistry reads with Timmy he casted her. He didn’t audition anyone else for the role.
After watching her in Euphoria season 1 I was so blown away by her acting ability! She’s a powerhouse and force to be reckoned with. Never again will I question if she’s just a pretty face. She really did deserve and win her Emmy award.
I know Timothee and Zendaya are the main stars but can we also appreciate the other actors too Rebecca, Oscar, Jason, Javier, Josh, etc because they all deliver such vivid characters on screen and I actually love them all if not more so than Tim and Zendaya…. Denis really casted perfect actors for all those roles DUNE PART 2 IM READY 😍

Seeing Lawrence of Arabia (1962) obviously influenced Frank Herbert's imagination when he wrote Dune (1965), so I don't think that Denis' comment on that film is accidental.
Denis has said he doesn’t do “director cuts”. The film he puts out on the day of theatrical release is the final version. They could include deleted scenes in the extras on the Blu-ray though.
Kevin is the best movie interviewer out there. And this movie - I was speechless and nearly wept. Will be seeing it several more times on Imax. Villeneuve has truly made a masterpiece, and we must get a Part 2. MUST.

Great interviews! And a personal shock... when McCarthy asked Tim Chalamet what film first triggered an immersion response in him, I immediately thought of Lawrence of Arabia as my own first immersion experience; when Villeneuve said that did it for him, I was blown away!

I saw the movie in PARIS, The movie is going to win awards. It’s a masterpiece. Denis is experienced enough now to get an OSCAR.
