Create a custom reset password page in your Flutterflow app

Finally back! Have been sick for a week and not been able to record any content. But now we are back in the game. In this video I show something I recently needed to add for my own app (awsme.ai), a reset password page.
The standard reset password page that is used for the built in firebase/flutterflow functionality is (not to be mean, BUT...) super ugly. So will show you, how to set it up yourself and explain how the UX flows works.

Hi! Nice video!
But I have some problems. i can`t get oobCode from the dynamic link in flutterflow. it s empty. dynamic link correctly redirect me to reset password page but I can`t get the params

Simply amazing. I tried figuring this out for a while.
One big issue that I see you also have is that the link exposes the apiKey. if you look at the video at 20:43, you can see that the apiKey is part of the address received from the link. any idea how to address this?

Great question! I answered you via email on how to do this without exposing the API key in the url. You can do it by routing the apj call via a custom cloud function and then get your google api key from your secret manager in google cloud (you need to store the api key as a secret key in the google cloud secret manager). Takes a little more work but is worth it for security.

@@abcdefg7878 yeah it should be the exact same. But you will need to find the url for where your reset password page it stored. Not sure how it will look since you are creating a mobile app. Try to avoid dynamiclinks for that since they will be removed soon.
Otherwise I can just create a video about how to do this after christmas.

Nice video thanks for sharing. Btw, when we customize the link it changes the link for all the templates both reset password and email verification templates. Is there a solution for this?

I recommend just building a custom email verification page as well. Since you can't hard code a specific url in the templates (because then the oob code it missing), or set multiple action urls, you will need to use the same flutterflow page for all the email templates. But since you get the "mode" parameter as well you can use simple conditional logic in flutterflow to show different content depending on what the users is doing (reseting password or other). Looks much better to avoid the default template and building your own:)

To open the app to everyone it is just to remove the validCode boolean from the disable button field. Will make sense when you watch the video.
