    My issue with 90% of clean products is the presence of essential oils. I get a rash every time I use anything with essential oils in it, especially on my face.

    • @Marty22408
      @Marty22408 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it is the low quality oils, that causes that for you. I have been using only basic and essential oils (of high quality ingredients) on my face for 10 years, nothing else and my skin has never been better. So I don't use products with essential oils in it, but rather just the oils.

    • @Slmonroe22011

      @M2408 the brand of oil doesn't seem to make a difference. I have super sensitive skin and pretty much all Fragrance and essential oils will give me a rash regardless of the brand.

    Tati, the term “clean” has no boundaries or restrictions. There is no clear definition which is why it’s strictly a marketing tactic. Until the term “clean” is actually regulated and monitored you’re still gonna find questionable ingredients in clean products. But I admire your transparency and how openly you talk about these things!

I've obviously always loved her product reviews, especially in regards to makeup (but gal I will never be purchasing a Natasha Denona eyeshadow pallet). That being said, girl its nearly 2023, we've got actual dermatologists reviewing skincare on youtube now with really in-depth analysis of ingredients. Hearing "clean," "toxic," "endocrine disrupting" is so shocking coming from a reputable guru like her. Aren't we past the fear-mongering? We all know the EWG is marketing propaganda and misrepresents studies and science. I get that she's been on the "clean" train for a long time but a lot of people don't buy it anymore and the "clean" labels mean less and less every year. Hearing that somethings got essential oils isn't a positive, nor is hearing that its "paraben-free." Its a very 2015 way of thinking about skincare.

    I agree with you about what is organic makeup. I know that in Europe a lot of the ingredients that are used in our products are banned there, so there's that. I want to test makeup from there and see if I see a difference. I wish that we still had Max Factor, I remember seeing it as a young teen here and then it was discontinued here, I ended up seeing it in Ukraine and in Austria when I was on vacation a few years back. I do want to try others as well. Love you Tati!! ❤️❤️

    A fluffy frothy blurred lip from NYX is meant to either blurt out at the lines for an artistic aesthetic, or it’s actually very easy to blend in with a lip liner. I got one in rosy red which is like a deep Christmas red and it’s absolutely beautiful, But there are days when the blurred look just doesn’t really do it for me. That’s when I pull out a lip liner. I love the smell actually and it’s not drying on my lips I can put a lip balm over it and it stays pretty nice throughout the day. I wouldn’t call it a true liquid lip though, not like the dry dry dry liquid lip.

    Just throwing it out there since you asked about baking soda - it’s not that it’s “bad for you” but a lot of people have a reaction to it in deodorants. When I first started aluminum-free deodorant I didn’t realize reaction to baking soda was a thing and my pits were red, swollen, and sensitive for weeks (I thought it was my “transition” or something) until I learned about it. Most “sensitive skin” deodorants for the aluminum-free brands typically mean baking soda free.

    I don’t understand why so many people criticize clean beauty by saying they don’t use preservatives (or not good ones). The whole idea of using the term clean was to have something that differentiates from “conventional” products without saying “natural”, as natural actually has to mean natural, while clean is a mix of natural and less-controversial synthetics. It was never meant to mean exclusively natural, and there are plenty of preservatives that truly work and also meet clean standards (for clean standards in this case I am taking about preservatives accepted as clean by almost all cosmetic retailer stores). Btw, anything with less than 5% water doesn’t need a preservative, so it is only for water-based things like lotions. If you go with fully natural, the preservatives are more limited and difficult to use, and some indeed don’t work, but there are still ways to use natural, Eco-cert preservatives that pass preservative challenge tests. So the only reason a company’s preservative system doesn’t work is because they didn’t formulate a good recipe. Nothing to do with natural, clean, or conventional. However, clean and natural may not last as long, but definitely should last the time the company says. They can be made to last 1-2 years while being clean. (I am a cosmetic formulator with over a decade of experience).

    None of my Fitglow lip serums smell like 'grandmas rose garden'. I'd say they have a light vanilla scent but not floral what so ever. I have multiple. I was surprised at your review of this item, it is definitely one of Fitglow's best sellers and for a reason. Honestly I thought you'd love them, maybe the sample was a dud? There are so many good shades tho. They don't 'plump' but do a good job at smoothing over lip lines making them fantastic for aging lips, and incredibly nourishing.

    Seeing a lot of aversion to the term 'clean' in the comments section.
    I agree 💯 that a) it's marketing driven and b) it's undefined. But it's also signalling that the brand wants to do better with their formulations and exclude ingredients where safety studies are incomplete, inconclusive or inconsistent.
    There is nothing wrong with this. To the clean-deniers in the comments, please stop coming after people for using this term. The attacks are unjustified.
