    I've got knives from $30 to $300, and the Praxis is my favorite knife in my collection. It's been in my pocket basically every day for the past 2 years. It fits my hand perfectly, is drop shut smooth, cheap enough to not be babied, and it's in my favorite color combo (Black and gold).

    The Praxis was my first civivi knife and I still carry it. Absolutely agree with you, it is so damn comfortable to hold and use. I’ve heard it compared to a Shaman, and I can definitely see the similarities.

    When Civivi first came out , I bought the Praxis and the other 2 9cr18 knives all at the same time , and I always Loved my Praxis and its Definitely one of the Best Bang for Buck knives out there , BUT the Bearings hold it back , i.m.o. , from being The Best , now if your just e.d.c.ing it or you work at a desk and your just cutting paper and envelopes all day , it might just be the best , But Im a Carpenter and Im working in really dusty and dirty environments and trust me , those Bearings Clog up Fast , Bearing knives usually only last around a few weeks to a month before I can't even open it , were as Ive used my Benchmades , Cold Steels , and Spyderco's for 6 -7 years and still.have not clean them

    Praxis was my first just into knifes last year. Been an awesome knife to carry, use, and learn to sharpen without feeling about if I accidentally fudge it up. But I haven’t! Still carrying it even after picking up a few other pieces because I like it so much.

    I just ordered the exact one your showing in the video before I even finished watching it. I love the black blade and green handle. Looks very nice. I have a Civivi Elementum Tanto with Brass handle but it's too small for work. I just picked up a WE Knife Co. 704E but it's too nice for cutting cardboard up at work. I'm going to give this one a nice work out when it arrives. Thanks for all your information on knives. Your my fav channel to watch on the subject.

    I really love my Praxis, and it's become my go-to cheap beater knife along with the Sencut Actium. My only complaint was that it was an oily mess out of the box due to Civivi/Sencut over-oiling all their parts at the factory, but once I tore it down and cleaned it, it was an awesome EDC. You hit upon all the highlights of it, so not going to repeat those points. The overall design is spot-on though, so I really hope that someday WE makes a premium version of this that comes in a better blade material than 9Cr18MoV.

    Many of these fantastic "budget" knives get lost in the speed of the abyss. Knives come out so fast and 80 million PM2's are released a month and people forget. I had my ruike p801 out the other day to sharpen it to give to my brother. (I found out he doesn't carry a pocket knife and needed to fix that). I always loved it, but hadn't had it out in a while. What an awesome knife. That being said, I use my praxis so much, the thought crossed my mind to gift him that knife, but I would 100% have to replace it. I use knives for a living, have many of them and the praxis is not my most carried, but by far, my most used. It's the take anywhere and cut anything knife.

    Always said this as well, for $45, the Civivi Praxis has always been the best bang for your buck budget knife, period. Excellent drop shut action; huge TWACK after deployment, gorgeous satin grind on top of a very thin flat ground blade, I mean it literally feels like you are touching your finger tips between the blade when your at the deepest point of the blade hahahaha Great knife without a doubt, this thing with slice forever.

    Really wish they made a wood handle Damascus version of the Praxis, you're so right, it's a great knife. To answer your question as to my all time favorite Civivi knife, I have to go with the 3" Pintail Flipper with cuibourtia wood handles and Damascus blade. I think it's the most beautiful 3" folding knife I've ever seen at any price. And it's a perfect gentleman's light carry. Although small and relatively harmless looking when folded, it's very deceiving. The addictive flipping action releases a very beefy blade that seems to come out of nowhere.

    The praxis even has a deep carry clip as a budget knife yet there's so many 250 to 500 dollar knives and even higher prices knives that don't ha e an option for deep carry and it's next to impossible to find an aftermarket clip somewhere. We need way more aftermarket support on so many blades bc unless you have a Benchmade bugout or Spyderco pm2, your options to customize your knife are limited. I really would like to see at the very least an option for a deep carry clip especially on higher prices blades. Hell even charge a little more and include and extra deep carry clip along with the normal one.

The blade cuts like a razor; it deploys flawlessly every time to where I need to try hard to fail it; and the weight in hand just feels right. I have a Civivi Elementum and Civivi Imperium. I really like the Elementum but it’s just a little too small. The Imperium is also nice but a little too thin and more of a gentleman’s knife. However, my go to knife, at this time, is a Hershaw Link. The Link blade is shaped very much like the Praxis but is only 3.25” long compared to the Praxis at 3.75. However, the Link blade is 20CV and the price at $90 is about double the Praxis. Personally, I find the size of the Link is just right for me and with either 20CV or M390 blade steel I think the Link is often overlooked as one of the best buys for the dollar. For some people, one negative of the Link is that it is assisted opening and I was hesitant myself but I have come to like it. Still I may have to try a Praxis even though I normally don’t carry knives that large.

    I can't say which one cuts better, but out of the "large" Civivi blades I have are (Praxis, Baklash and Cogent) the Praxis is the most comfortable for my mid-size hand, then the Cogent and Backlash. To me the best mid-size blade would be the Badlands (cost, geometry, comfort and EDC-ability).

If I could finger flick it and it had a little bit more access to the liner lock it would make it even better. But I agree, if they re-did the knife to be a premium knife I'd toss my money at it.

    Jared! I purchased a Kubey KU322F based on your recommendation. Love that knife. I'm pretty sure the KU322F could defeat the Praxis on the battlefield. Now that I look hard at the Praxis you're right, it's a compelling proposition. Looks like I'm going to acquire a Praxis and a Kubey Karaji as my next folder aquisitions.

      Honestly I think the PRAXIS would win bases on the geometry. It would be a good fight though, but cutting performance would have to go to the praxis

    The Praxis is the knife that got me hooked into knives. Mine is awesome, it has completely drop shut action with a ping when it closes. I’ve asked many knife reviewers what is the closest quality knife similar to the Praxis because I would love to have a long term low maintenance Praxis. I absolutely love mine even with a steel I have to maintain after any type of moderate use. I’m thinking about putting a 17 degree 600 grit edge on it to see if that may help me out some.

    • @NeevesKnives
      @NeevesKnives  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes a 17° 600 grit edge imo would be the best performance, 15° for better cutting and sharpness but you would lose some toughness,

    • @douglasbrmn2
      @douglasbrmn2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That makes sense since the steel doesn’t do so well with tougher jobs. Thanks.

    Love my praxis but for my hands it needs to be like 15-20% bigger to be perfect. Also the texture on the liner hurts my thumb if I'm fiddling with it but what can you do haha, I know flipping it 50 times running isn't exactly normal use!

    I have that exact knife Jerad got last summer and I love the 9cr is easy to sharpen I just love Civivi...my favorite Civivi is Riffle and Brazen but they are over $50 I think.And yes it has a great tip I'm the one that last night that I dropped my Praxis and it stuck into my foot have a Hell of a scar

  • @Niko.7

    I've got my eye on the Praxis for some time. The Brazen is not bad too. I have one for 8/9 months now. And I have only two nitpicks. The first is the lanyard hole. The second is when I was cutting sone cardboard and I had to push a bit more. The lock was changing it's place. Besides these two the knife is awesome. Maybe my next Civivi will be a Praxis.😁

    The Praxis is a great knife and no doubt one of the best values around. I own two...one as a beater and another to carry in rotation. I bought one for a friend about a year ago and he loves the knife. I would buy a third if they ever released an upgraded model...say one in 154CM and micarta.

    Civivi Elementum Button Lock in carbon fiber. Three reasons: ergos, grind, and action. The way this carries and feels in the hand is addictive. It's kicked out knives several times the price. If this came in a premium steel like 20cv or magnacut I probably wouldn't cary anything else for a LONG time.

    "TAC Force TF-469 Gentleman's Assisted Opening Folding Knife, Black Straight Edge Blade, Brown Pakkawood Handle, 4-Inch Closed" take the screws out put Loctite on them and put them back. The very best EDC for $10.44. I bought 5 of them when they were 8 dollars in 2017. I thought they would fall apart. Today I still use the first one and have 4 back ups if and when I need them. I am 62 so I will most likely die first at this rate.

    LOOKS like a winner all around especially at 40 50 bucks. However the weight is just a smidge heavy for me. my pm3 is 2.40ozs This being 4.42ozs is Double the weight. Deal breaker eh No I still like it. However there is a BIG difference in the weight department. My other fav is my 940 at 2.60ozs see where im going. approaching 5ozs seams like Not a big deal until you carry a blade for a YEAR stright then switch to a pm3 or a 940 and you all day think you just lost your knife.. Nope its still there..... I need to get one of these though looks really well done.
