Many of us struggle with our measurements when it comes to card making. Some resort to just "eyeballing" where they think it looks ok. But it is time to take all the guess work out of your card making and create some easy templates.
This also makes it easier to think of ideas too - as it is like a real life card sketch right in front of you! You will find the card templates make your creating much easier, quicker and less frustrating.
You can make as many as you like too. Great for demonstrators teaching new card makers too. Takes away that overwhelming feeling because - who really can learn measurements quickly?
Thanks for following me! Feel free to share this video and subscribe.

wishes to you all the way from Sri Lanka. I have been struggling with measurements because most demonstrators are frm US and their measurements are totally different from my a4 papers. now i understand why. Thanks for the eye opener.

I started using this method 3 years ago when I started making cards because I could never remember the layering sizes It has helped me so much 😊

We were just discussing this at my last class and they were interested in getting the measurements so they could see "layers" on cards, etc. so THANK YOU! This was GREAT and I can't wait to share it with my customers too. I was just going to give them measurements, but these actual pieces are PERFECT so they can play around with the different layers and sizes! LOVE this Kylie!

Judy Gielniak I know it will help your customers so much! And it’s great if they make the templates for themselves. I’d love to hear how you go!

A super idea, even for someone who has been making cards for a few years ...there are times I am completely uninspired. This is also a great way to cut up some of my card stock which has been shoved off the current SU colour scheme.

Yes, you’ve inspired me! Thought about doing something similar a few years ago, but second guessed and thought it was silly. Saw you using them and made my own metric set going down in 0.5mm increments. I will add to those the longer strips you’ve shared here today. These are only for reference, and I can easily alter measurements for skinnier/wider layers for individual cards on the fly, but now I have decent starting points. I have also made positive and negative templates with my general use punches (classic, everyday label etc). So handy! Next are my Stitched Shape dies, tho I might make those in an inexpensive vellum so I can preview images both around and through with the same template.

Catherine Mercer it’s so good! It’s the simple things that often are the most profound. As Stampin’ Up!® keep saying - #simplestamping.... how can we get people started without a clear starting point?? It’s so important!!

Hello from Texas. This is a great tip and very helpful to me. Could you please put up the templates for us in inches or imperial as you say? Because I could use all the help I can get for perfect layering. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
