My first thought was to just walk over to complete the additional instructions in the 5 minutes before the task officially started. I don’t think the letter explicitly stated that those bonus actions needed to be completed while riding the bike.
I think the real mission of this task had very little to do with your ACTUAL completion time. What mattered way more was how often your foot hit the ground. Minimize that as much as possible, and youd win even with a pretty quick time. For example, even if you were blazing fast and finished the entire course in only like 20 seconds, you still wouldve won by a landslide if your foot only hit the ground like once or twice. at 20 seconds and 3 mistakes, that would put your final time at 2.5 seconds. That wouldve still had you win even if you were that fast. One mistake literally HALVES your time, so minimizing that was far more important than actually being slow. Even if you could go from like 60 seconds to say, 4 minutes, that only actually nets you 2 more mistakes you could make for a monumental effort to slow down.
What really puzzled me about this task is that nobody just rode in circles. I mean... Riding forwards just means going where your front wheel is going.

I think the way to do this one would be to ride around within the limits for as long as you can. Stop, hop off the bike, and then do the various tasks on foot. Assuming I’ve understood the rules correctly, your time is only halved once if you don’t get back on the bike.
Ok, so, ride the bike slowly to the first mini task, stop then slide your feet across the ground doing everything except placing the letter in mailbox, slide all the way back to the start, slowly ride across the track, say what the letter said while riding, then place it in the box, even if you have to stop to do so this still means your time gets halved twice, even if you aren’t super slow riding I imagine 2 seconds to first task then 10 seconds for the full track would give 12 seconds only halved twice which is 3 seconds, slower than anyone else who did the task

@@clockworkkirlia7475 That actually could have worked, nothing stated they couldn't move anything, they just couldn't ride "out" of the boundary. Do another lap. And so on until you stuff it into the letter box.
As much as the red bike probably looked more daunting because of size and it being a mens bike, the blue children's bike was actually harder to ride because you're more cramped, and she would have probably had an easier time if she had picked the red one Edit: also I wonder how exactly they interpreted forwards, because if it just meant you had to be moving, you could just cycle the course up and down for a bit, before completing the task. But if it actually meant forward as in in the direction of the finish line, that would be a lot harder
I was thinking that too, I would have just circled one of the props for a few minutes then continued the task. If it was forward along the task then doing a very wide weave would somewhat do the trick...

@@stephanieyee9784 that's why I said the red bike probably looked more daunting 🤗 I fully understand why she chose the blue one, but as a Dutch person who has used cycling as a main method of transport for the better part of my life so far, a bike that is slightly to big is much easier especially once you get going than a bike that is too small. Swimming and cycling (roller/ice skating too) are very common activities and very healthy movements so it's very sad when parents don't give their children the ability to do that.
There’s something with the math and the way this task is worded, that confuses. Surely, if the contestants time is halved every time they make a mistake, that means that if they for instance make a mistake 7 times. ... The test has nothing to do with the actual speed of the bike, since the course is objective based. You just have to be in motion and stay in bounds. So, do all objectives except for the hat at whatever speed you're comfortable at, hold onto the hat, and just do laps until like 10 seconds to go, drop off the hat.
Rather than trying to ride "slowly", but wobbling and putting feet down which halves the time, they would've been better off riding at a faster speed but witb more stability and less mistakes.
I feel like the best approach to this task is to just ride the bike at a normal speed and just circle the first interaction point for 5 minutes before just doing the things
so if i get the rules right of slowest time wins, do all the tasks minus that last one (posting the letter) and just ride about for a couple minutes...
I would have ridden back and forth at a normal speed for a long time and then eventually do the tasks. That way you don’t have to move super slow and risk landing on a foot

If anyone here has ever riden a motorcycle, the trick to riding very slow is to keep constant pressure on the rear brake. The gryroscopic force is the same as when riding at speed and balance is preserved.
How? They have full pads and helmets, if you quickly fall off a bike you smash your head on the cement, the helmet stops you, if you slowly fall off a bike you save yourself with your hands and the gloves stops that. Biggest risk was a scraped finger.
@@poppinlochnesshopster3249 being the "most ____" doesn't mean that you are "____" it means that you are the closest thing to "____" out of all available options

Not trying to be one of those people like "oh well i couldve done this better" but usually people think outside the box on this show and im shocked that everyone here just went like hard forward the entire way through
honestly i see to many loopholes in the task i would of crossed the starting line then pulled out my phone and watched like a 3 hour movie making me the one waiting the longest then i can make plenty of mistakes and still wipe the floor winning the task
I can't help but consider the possibility of simply laying the bike down and scooting on it through the tasks, maybe using something as an oar - keep your feet off the ground and inch yourself forward to the finish line
I know how to ace this. First of all, you need to realize that you will have to put your foot down at nearly every stop, so instead of panicking, just ride as slowly as you can, speeding up a bit if you think you can grab something without stopping, then immediately slowing down. And when you do stop, make sure to plant your foot and keep it there. The timer will have stopped, but that's fine, cause otherwise you risk putting your foot down multiple times at each stop. I was really hoping someone would have figured this out.

I don't know if I've missed something, but couldn't they have just rode around in circles for as long as possible before doing the task?
This kind of reminds me of when I was first starting to learn to ride a bike
Rather than trying to ride "slowly", but wobbling and putting feet down which halves the time, they would've been better off riding at a faster speed but witb more stability and less mistakes.
Victoria is such a lovely lady.
I feel like the best approach to this task is to just ride the bike at a normal speed and just circle the first interaction point for 5 minutes before just doing the things
you need to be moving forward

Heartwarming :)
After not riding a bike for 6 years i forgot how… i tried to get on one and almost instantly lost balance and fell over…
How hard is it to get a mailbox that says "US MAIL" on it when in England? Was this on purpose?
I just noticed this and was wondering the same thing.
A BMX is not a good bike to use for a first timer the gear ratio on those can be hard to cycle as they lack gearing but she did well!
Easy mode is go fast and then just ride around for a while back and forth before putting the letter in the box
I would want to argue that you always ride a bike forwards
IMO they should have picked up speed by lapping a few times then they could have cruised through without tipping over when they had to grab the items
so if i get the rules right of slowest time wins, do all the tasks minus that last one (posting the letter) and just ride about for a couple minutes...
I would have ridden back and forth at a normal speed for a long time and then eventually do the tasks. That way you don’t have to move super slow and risk landing on a foot
Definitely getting 1 point for this because I’m built like Sonic The Hedgehog.
World Premiere:
Stew Peters Presents Died Suddenly.
On rumble.
Yess
Loophole! They should have put both feet down, and shuffled along never taking their feet off the ground. They would have only had time halved once, and been able to take as long as they wanted!
I would have just rode around in circles at a fairly regular speed for a really long time before starting the task.
And I'm still waiting for David to join the lineup for a future series
Maybe Victoria can convince him!
@@tracy9610 oh, I've been hoping for that since they announced the lineup for series 12! I also would love to see Rob Brydon in the programme, since Lee was there as well.
Im surprised none of the took the letter and kept cycling to ride up the time, and then podt it
Brilliant
If anyone here has ever riden a motorcycle, the trick to riding very slow is to keep constant pressure on the rear brake.
The gryroscopic force is the same as when riding at speed and balance is preserved.
This was honestly one of the most dangerous tasks I have seen on Taskmaster yet, and I am surprised nobody got hurt
@@creativecredence850What are you quoting? I have no idea what you are referring to.
As there were 2 bikes and nothing stating the rule you can only use 1 bike every Dutch person would have won this challenge XD
How did nobody just ride in circles for an hour. Also like if you do that and then choose when to put foot down to do course objectives like in the end its better than stutter stepping. Not trying to be one of those people like "oh well i couldve done this better" but usually people think outside the box on this show and im shocked that everyone here just went like hard forward the entire way through
This task is hard watch for any Dutch people watching
As a Dutch man this is beyond cringe to watch.
I would have always kept one foot on the ground.
honestly i see to many loopholes in the task i would of crossed the starting line then pulled out my phone and watched like a 3 hour movie making me the one waiting the longest then i can make plenty of mistakes and still wipe the floor winning the task
why does no one know how to adjust the seat height 😭
None of them know the brake trick
1000th like....that was satisfying 😂
I can't help but consider the possibility of simply laying the bike down and scooting on it through the tasks, maybe using something as an oar - keep your feet off the ground and inch yourself forward to the finish line
Ya know... maybe the strat was cycle normally in a circle for an hour and skip all the challenges
