Not to be a MG fanboy or anything, but I feel like the depth of Senator Armstrong’s character is highly dependent on the greater context of the game and series. Raiden’s whole arc is built on the idea that he’s perceived as a hero because he’s conveniently on the “good guys’” side most of the time, but at the end of the day all he really does is kill because its all he’s ever done. The only way he still feels attachment to his humanity is through pain and violence. It’s pretty edgy, yeah, but when set against Armstrong’s “I’ll start a war that’ll kill millions for the greater sake of the American public”, it makes for a very interesting foil. Armstrong criticizes the failure of America’s Hyper-Capitalist faux democracy, but then contributes to exactly what’s wrong with America and plans to make it far worse in the name of “progress”. I know it’s still “12 year old politics” to an extent, but it’s still gotta be one of the most iconic video game antagonist speeches ever, if not the most iconic.
I feel like most of Metal Gear plots are "12 year old politics" but dressed up fancy and Rising's plot is the one that tries to pretend it's not the least which makes it the best one.

DNF Duel is actually really fun, and it is PICK UP AND PLAY. Me and my boi just booted it up and had a blast, although I won every game bc I am a FGC nerd and he's a total noob but still, lots of fun to just get straight into the games and not have to sweat in training mode for 10 hours before you can understand how the game works (like I did have to do for tekken, and to a lesser extent strive)
