_The phases I went through watching this video:_
*1.* Watches video and say to myself this looks so easy
*2.* Starts to follow along with the first exercise and thinks haha yeah this is as easy I thought it would be
*3.* Gets 1 minute into the first exercise and wonders why my forearm muscles are starting to burn
*4.* 2 minutes into the first exercise and can no longer move wrist due to forearm cramping up 😅
*5.* Realises the lesson isn't easy at all
Thankyou Ricardo for the lesson, El Estapario sent me here. I saw other videos of haters a few months ago of people saying that you edit your vids and can't actually play that fast. I see they were completely wrong

Single stroke speed is my biggest weakness. I haven't practiced it much though because it's much more fun to practice other rudiments but this might make me change my mind. 😃

I'm the other way, as a young, I didmt have lessons. Or a proper grip, I probably still don't. Still never took a lesson. But I just didn't understand(and still don't totally) how to get really good at doubles and actually use them all around the kit. To me,when trying to learn rudiments, it just seemed pointless, as I was like "there's literally no difference between a double and a single, as a double is just two singles" and it just seemed so stupid to practice LLRR RRLL. It just seemed like a waste of my time.but boy was I wrong. Twenty years later and I'm still trying to erase bad habits.i still haven't had a proper lesson and although I understand it all technically, my execution and understanding of execution is still mysterious to me, as I've seen 30 different ppl explain grip differently, or wrist vs fingers differently, using rebound or not, depending on it or when to not depend on it at all, vs when to use your fingers...I still don't totally get it, as some ppls arms and hands are basically completely still, while theyre playing dozens and dozens of ghost notes between snare and or hi hat, and I just don't get it..still

Nice video man! I'm 15 and I found my personal killer secret. For the kick I started practicing like The Rev. I'm closing my doors and practice 60-90 mins just double bass endurance on a daily basis - boring but it works. The more endurance I get - the more speed I get. When I started doing this 30 min endurance without any break was limited at 120 bpm. I'm actually at 165 for the 30 min period and 200 like 30 sec. Your videos are cool! Keep 'em coming man🤘🤘🤘

    Hello Riccardo,
Thank you for taking time for me. It is amazing what you do on the drumset. I would be happy if can learn it, so i can play metal songs safe and at the correct speed. I am a hobby drummer and drumming makes me happy.
I have bought the 2024 Full bundle and i have two Little questions about it.
About the Videos Killer Speed secret :
How much and often i must practice each excercise? A week, a month or how long ? What is the goal for each ? And when can i go to the next ?
And what can i do when i have problems to do the excercise in your starting Speed ?
I would be happy to hear from you.
    Thank you
    Bye bye

I’m 14, and I’ve begun practicing single stroke technique hours everyday. I kinda taught myself a very finger-driven technique, but I found it to be quite inadequate. I can do 270 bpm speed (2 strokes per beat) on each hand, but not for long. I couldn’t do it for longer than 32 beats on either hand. It’s really cool you’ve curated your own technique, I’m definitely gonna be studying this.

Kinda reassuring to see this is actually a proper technique. I haven't had the opportunity to own drums in 15 years, but I've learned this (or at least very similar) technique by myself, playing just with hands. It started out as a joke in middle school, playing blast beats against my legs, walls and people's heads, haha. Getting back to using sticks took a while but I managed to keep the technique with them, too. Needless to say, I've never needed a phone when I'm on the toilet...

    • @LukeTang-t8l
      @LukeTang-t8l 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

He starts slow so that you can build your muscle memory up. Anyway, if you haven’t ever done the technique, it can still give you a burning sensation in the forearm. 70 bpm is still enough to build elasticity if it gives a burning sensation. Ricardo Merlini can play up to 450 bpm with his techniques, but he is just showing his viewers how to get started, hence why he is doing the exercises at a slower bpm.
