Is buchholz relay used for internal faults or for external faults

Aaryani Kadiyala Buchholz Relay works only for internal faults with in the transformer core such as turn to turn faults and phase to phase faults. It does not operate for external faults.

Thanks for sharing this video. Easy to understand. In addition, there is a new improved version with different float movement. Since, the buchholz relay is mounted between tank and conversator an gas sampling device can be added to check from the ground.
