Todd approach was wrong, but he's blunt and honest. I love that. Too many people sugar coat and try to beautify important things to help others. You can't help people by telling them what you think they want to hear. Sometimes you have to be blunt for them to wake up and to get your message across. Something that can really help them. That's what's wrong now with society, to much stuff is being sugar coated.
If he avoids saying he loves you, he doesn't. Sorry sweetie. You are just meeting his needs until something better comes along.

@What Not To Do At a Stoplight I agree with you. I have known the gentleman that I am with now since we were teenagers. So I have basically known him all my life and we remained friends. In 2015 we started dating. I know he loves me. He doesn't always say it he shows it. He puts me first, he makes sure my needs are met before his own even if that means he has to go without at that time, he doesn't allow other people too be disrespectful to me, he opens the doors for me at all times, if I am in the hospital he sleeps there, we pray together; even out in public, he calls me or texts me everyday from work, if his job takes him outta state or outta town for two- three weeks on storm damage (he is a lineman), he has certain people to come by and make sure I have the things that I need. In return all he wants is to be happy. His Mother raised a true Southern gentleman and she would be proud!

I'm 64 yrs old and have made the same mistakes, and more. No matter which way you choose, there's always the possibility that it may not work out. The best thing to do is to keep your own self esteem even though that might mean you only have yourself to depend on.

You know how many people have lived together as a couple for years without getting married? Look and Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.
