Listening to the drivers prattle on in their native vernacular, you can truly get a sense of their animals physiology as it relates to their charge's performance as the contest unfolds. These men are of ordinary intellect. However, horses ARE intelligent heard animals. Eyes, ears and so on that do translate sensory impression.
