- “We were aware that Ed Sullivan was the big one because we got a telegram from Elvis and the Colonel. And I’ve heard that while the show was on there were no reported crimes, or very few. When The Beatles were on Ed Sullivan, even the criminals had a rest for ten minutes.” - George

My 5th birthday was February 9th, 1964. I asked my mom and dad to let me stay up to watch The Beatles on Ed Sullivan because my 12 year female cousin told me about them when she babysat me. I became an instant fan and have been ever since. They were and always will be the GOAT. 😊
Hard to explain if you didn't live through it. There was a buzz going on that I've never felt since. I was only six. The way they looked, played, and sang was so new and fresh. This music was made for me!
They went ahead and changed the world.
And remember they appeared in America not that long after the JFK assassination. The country was still in a funk, and they were just what we needed. I was 12 then, and will never forget that show.
I remember very well at 8 yrs old sitting on the floor in front of the TV while my family, aunts and uncles gathered around the DR table in view of the TV having cake and coffee. It was so incredibly exciting for me. ❤❤❤
Wow I can’t believe it’s been 60’s years since The Beatles came to America and performed on the Ed Sullivan Show!! Now that’s awesome!! Happy 60’s Anniversary BEATLES!!! 😍🎸🎸🎸🥁🎶🎵❤️💙🇬🇧
Well said Angel cat GOD BLESS THE BEATLES FOREVER and You!❤🙏
Thank you! U2.

@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425oh please..... So, The Beatles are just another Backstreet Boys? 😅
The soundtrack for the rest of my life began that day! Happy Anniversary Beatles! ❤
I saw this when this show when I was 8. We played Beatles on the playground for weeks!
They're no words ,the Best group in the history
Agreed 😊
They played twice on Ed Sullivan today the 9th, the famous live show that night where they played All My Loving, Til There Was You, She Loves You then came back later to play I Saw Her Standing There and I Want To Hold Your Hand.
But on an afternoon show which was laid down on tape they played three songs, Twist and Shout, Please Please Me and then closed the show with I Want To Hold Your Hand. This taped performance aired on the 23rd after the Beatles had already flown back to England.
What a fantastic recap of those exceptionally magical historical nights .. Thank You forever for your comment💕💕💕💕
Sixty years since The Beatles came to America and began the British Invasion, then sixty years since they performed on the Ed Sullivan Show. Beatlemania really swept through the nation and it's still going on strong!
Let's keep remembering their legacies as a band and a solo artist everyone!
Peace and Love! ✌️&💗
The day that changed the world of music forever.
It changed the world (period)
Not that day, that was just America. The revolution had already started months before in England!

@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 I have seen many documentaries about the 1960's in Britain, the U.S. and the rest of the western world. Everybody who was around at the time (and young) agrees that the Beatles not only had a massive influence on music, but on many other aspects of society and culture too. They even had a big influence on the young people of the Soviet Union and the rest of the Eastern Bloc. Watch the documentary "How the Beatles Rocked the Kremlin" on TH-cam to see examples of this.

The night that changed America.❤
I wasn't in 1964 but I'm fan of The Beatles since 2001 or 2002 and I'll always love The Beatles.
I was 6. I still worship Paul everyday. So grateful he is here and he is wise.
Priceless, timeless
I was right there glued to the TV
Me too😂 9yro!❣️
Simply immortal❤
The greatest show on earth, The Big Bang of rock and roll, The Beatles always The Beatles‼️
Watched this!!!! Ohhhhhh.. fell in love with George that moment ❤
I remember reading a sign one of the young ladies was holding up while screaming along with a bunch of other girls at a Beatles performance reading Elvis is dead, long live the Beatles. I remember thinking my God how cruel. The Beatles and Elvis had great respect for each other. And yes the Beatles were absolutely awesome.
I got hooked onto the Beatles when I was between 10 & 12. The Fab 4 had only been broken up for less than a decade. At that time, I bought my first album... Sgt. Pepper, and John was still alive. I was so HOPING for a reunion and I even remembered when Loren Michaels offered a measley $3,000 for the boys to reunite. I love them then & I still love them now!!! I've been watching a LOT of Beatles RockBand here on TH-cam. The album set list and the Dreamscapes are a BEAUTIFUL fever dream that needs to be watched by all Beatles fans all around the world! Go watch... NOW!
My sister (born 53') had bobblehead dolls gifted to her!!❤☺️😍❣️
two of my favorite songs from the Beatles ❤

I was just a baby when they did the show. I have good childhood memories of Beatles music, and still love I Want to Hold Your Hand! The Beatles rule!👑
Hail to the Beatles who are loved by all the mankind.
Hail to fab four. We salute them, one and all.
John, Paul, George and Ringo they're all always to us cool.
We'll listen to them till the end of the world.
Wow.......hermosooooo graciassss ❤❤
I watched The Beatles on Ed Sullivan on that Sunday night, and it was a once in a lifetime experience. Ed Sullivan began the show by telling the audience that Elvis Presley and his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, had sent the Beatles a telegram wishing them success in America. He then introduced the Beatles, who opened by performing "All My Loving"; "Till There Was You", which featured the names of the group members superimposed on closeup shots, including the famous "SORRY GIRLS, HE'S MARRIED" caption on John Lennon; and "She Loves You". They then returned later in the program to perform "I Saw Her Standing There" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand". Their appearance on February 9 is considered a milestone in American pop culture, and furthermore the beginning of the British Invasion in music.
The broadcast drew more than 73 million viewers.
I was to little but I still had and have a crush on all I love George’s eyes John’s smile Paul’s sweet face and Ringo nose ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

My sister was 17 and l was 8. She rushed into the living room to switch the channel to Ed Sullivan; l had been peacefully watching cartoons. I didn't know then that the Beatles would mean so much to me later on.

I remember that day, I was just turning 8 years old. My father had a reel to reel tape recorder and taped their performance while my sister and I watched the tube. The following day at school, 2nd grade, it was mass hysteria.

50,000 ticket requests for a 750 seat theater. Beatles!
Yup, I was there when it happened...the music and culture in the world changed from that day forward. 👍

The most attractive thing about the Beatles was that they were a BAND! Up until then, there were solo singers backed by musicians.
Sat in front of the TV that night bought the album.and every record since
