Been playing mine for for hours today, so much fun. The kick bass is not quiet, and neither are rim shots, but otherwise it's a pretty stealthy kit that won't bother your neighbors.

I have electronic drum kit of another brand, and i also like this one. I don't expect high quality sounds, but i expect low latency and sensitiveness of pads, because i use mainly for practise and fooling with unusual presets. Not for stage. However this nitro mesh kit sounds nice.

My bass drum does NOT allow for a double bass pedal. It won't register both hits. I have to move the drum over so the right beater hit's directly in the middle.

What's it like picking up ghost notes on the snare? I play a lot of funk and its super important that it picks up those little nuances. Great review man. Cheers.

I highly recommend the brand new Roland td-1dmk. It’s more expensive but the triggers are much more responsive and the overall kit is durable and built to take a beating. Alesis unfortunately does not have a good reputation with durability.

Now let me reply as this was my first drum kit. You can use a double bass pedal (I did) but it will drop some notes so it is not accurate at all when going at a faster speed. An actual second bass drum can't be added unless you are fine with it sounding like a tom or crash XD (I am not sure if it is even possible so let me just say no)

what they say at 1:39 isn't true. if you use a double kick pedal the kick wont detect every hit therefore wont play every sound. an alternative however if you don't mind only having two toms is to take off the mid tom and replace the kick drum with the tom by screwing it in the same place the kick would be.

Everything is replaceable so it's no bother to repair and very inexpensive to do so. Considering yuo can buy three new kits for the cost of one, mid level Roland, it's an excellent value for money. You have to remember, this is not sold as a professional kit, it's not priced as a professional kit. It's a banging around and having fun kit, a practice kit,a beginners kit, an affordable apartment solution etc. Alesis doesn't claim it is high end or super durable, but it is by far the best kit at this price point.

He has his connected wrong, you are right the crash has the choke, he just has the ride plugged into cymbal 1 instead of cymbal 2. That said, you can use the provided ride as a second crash (no choke) and add a two zone ride, plugged into the extra 2-zone tom input.with stereo cable to produce two tones. Then you have a ride with bell, two crashes and can still add a single zone tom (into the extra cymbal input). Works out to be a decent little kit.

Just to clarify, I do not own an Alesis Nitro Mesh, but I have done a lot of research. 1: Yes, I believe you can add one extra tom and one extra cymbal pad. 2: No, I think the kick pad is too small for a double pedal. The Alesis Surge Mesh has a bigger snare pad, kick pad (which will fit a double pedal.) as well as some other things like cymbals that choke and what-not. It is $499 on Amozon right now. A little more expensive but might be worth it. I'd go to Alesis.com and look at each of them, they give pretty good product detail. Hope this helps!
