    Remember Chris, we still like seeing your day to day things such as making a sandwich. That way it feels like we are there enjoying those explorations with you. Your skills at videography and photography are stunning. The fact that you don't use a drone makes you work harder to get those shots but we appreciate these efforts and are rewarded in getting unique views. Keep up the good work and let your imagination fly.

    Leave the drones and cheesy back round music to others.......Youre the best because you film more intimately and that makes us feel like we are there with you....Youre videos are both exciting and comforting. Thanks for just being you !

    • @InjunOutdoors
      @InjunOutdoors 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree, avoid the drone. Its been overdone and and stay away from the "music". Keep going the way you're going. Keeping it real and practical.

    As many have said, your format is what is addicting. No fluff or fillers, just really good overlanding content that accurately depicts the reality that you live. This QA was awesome and is a welcomed addition to your video series!

    For me part of the fun with your videos is that you don’t rush. You enjoy life. Many of us live vicariously through your adventures. Don’t feel you need to constantly rush to find new adventures. Fast paced or slow we are along for the ride. And thanks for another great episode.

    Wasn't sure about a 42 minute Q&A video, but man, that 42 minutes flew by. Really appreciate the questions answered many of us had and did not know we needed answered. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL

    I’m just one of many subscribers, but a Jeep seems essential to what makes your channel so enjoyable and watch-worthy. It’s those remote locations and unexplored-by-most destinations that make me watch. I honestly can’t see you getting to those in anything but your Jeep.
    Then there’s the business end of it all. I can’t imagine a more cost-effective solution than the Jeep. I speak from experience.
    Stay safe and healthy and enjoy family and the holidays.

    This was a great video. We can be our own worst critic, your raw blog format is great. This is one of 2 or 3 channels I won't miss an episode of, and I love how you dont fill it with fluff and free use music. Keep up the great work.

    I loved this episode of you talking to the camera, essentially talking directly to us. There's an old medical trick I was taught to make an assessment of the person before you to aid in your diagnosis. You can also use it when a new person is introduced into your life. I've used it for 55 years and only once was it not beneficial of the assessment of the person before me...it's called the MSE or mental status exam(ination). On the very first MSE of Chris Shontz a year or so ago when I started to follow your channel you struck me as a truly genuine person, who is empathetic, loves life, loves his family and offers tremendous enjoyment to his followers, that he cares and loves what nature has to offer. You have done just that, Chris. It's been a truly amazing journey following you and during this past year you and a couple of other channels have kept our minds off of the current pandemic and politics happening in our nation and in the world. You answered many of the questions I thought of asking. In regards to a vehicle change...for me Chris Shontz and your orange Jeep are Venture4WD and it wouldn't be the same with a different vehicle format. I have thought about a Mercedes Benz or Land Rover for my personal situation but I absolutely love my Jeep. It's Americana. Made in America. I am proud of what we Americans offer the world. When you placed your foil-wrapped chicken in your engine compartment that reminded me of the years I worked with EOD and how we warmed our food in the engine compartments of the huge multi-wheel drive dump trucks that were used to throw ordnance in and to drag 500 pounders behind with chains. Anything from unopened soup to cans of beans. I still do that on overland camping trips. It saves me time when I arrive to my camp site. As far as drones, I love how Chad (Living the Van Life) and Jason (Primal Outdoors) start their respective channels with drone shots as they drive to destinations to camp and explore. The drones add an element of excitement to the journey.

    I still enjoy watching Chris make a sandwich and coffee. Those scenes make me feel like I'm right there camping. Not interested in gimmicky drone shots, which remove me from the experience.
    My question for anyone who knows the answer: What do people who live full time in their vehicle list as a home address? In other words, what does it say on the driver's license for address? Do you use your previous address even if you haven't lived there in four years?

    • @venture4wd
      @venture4wd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Currently, I simply use my parent's address. A lot of full-time RVers/travelers choose to "domicile" in certain states that make it relatively easy. Here are a few links if you're curious:

    What a small world we live in Chris. I used to work for a very big dairy company and during 1972 amongst others, spent time at Zaustner Foods near Allentown if I remember. Guess you were just a twinkle in you parents eye then eh ? Enjoyed this latest video too. Having been lucky enough to travel extensively throughout the South West since 1989, have encountered lots of critters in the deserts of Utah and Arizona. Primarily Rattlers, Bark scorpions and Mountain lions. The nearest encounter being two Bark scorpions near the entrance to my bivi tent on the edge of the toroweap overlook on the North rim of the Grand Canyon travelling on my own September 2002, nasty little devils I had to dispense with before being able to relax ready for sleep.

    Hi there. I'm newish here. I had found your old videos and had commented on your first video you allowed comments on. So I have just rediscovered you. Your filming and editing has definitely improved. I love that you're a nerd. I'm a nerd too. Grew up with Knight Rider on tv when I was a kid. I got a jeep because of Jurassic Park. When I started looking for jeeps on youtube I felt I never fit in because I don't care about rock crawling/off roading for its own sake. But this I love as it goes with the love exploring and the point of for me having gotten a jeep because of my fave movie. My husband and I enjoy watching your videos. I've been watching the stuff from last year. I do a few takes on my videos too. I think that's just the nature of making videos. I enjoyed this and it answered a lot of my questions.
