This entire boss is brilliant. The battleground is a forest coloured blue by the night sky. The attacks are difficult to dodge and/or survive but not too difficult. Your opponent is a beautiful animal that represents the animals within the forests, and the trees that build them. This elegant creature has been corrupted, and you now must face it. The music is absolutely perfect. I tend to be neutral most of the time, if not unhappy or happy. But this music makes me feel happier than ever before. This boss is quite possibly better than the bosses in Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.
It has the hybrid DNA of a JRPG's archetypical Legendary God/Hero Awakened theme and a Joe Hisaishi composition; what is such but the Magnum Opus of epic boss themes?
I mean, after a two phase boss that spawn enemies mid fight that you physically have to fight and which forces you to do platforming for the second phase while simultaneously making lightning strike upon said platforms, a normal big boss feels kinda underwhelming, so it's not really that weird.
This boss has somewhat variable difficulty, because the thing that really kills you is the poison damage taken if the higgmaker's help is inactive, as if you don't notice immediatly suddenly everyone is at 1 and you can't really recover party HP until you get the help back and clear the poison. Also, this boss is a consecutive battle after another boss instead of having two phases, and the second phase of Broadleaf's Kingmaker is actually skipped in the rematch from casting Retrial.

The developers in Japan worked tirelessly to produce this game, coloring every last square inch of every frame, designing every last creature and every last character themselves, coming up with endless sidequests and 9 full chapters of main story, the voice actors worked day and night to produce these cutscenes, coding 10 dreamers mazes and kingdom building and all of these other amazing things, Joe Hisashi came up with so many perfect soundtracks and songs and effects, and yet you have the audacity and the will to degrade their perfect work. If I'm pathetic for sticking up for my favorite thing, for this absolute masterpiece of both the gaming world and the world of Ghibli, then so goddamn be it. You are a disgrace. Good day.

My DM actually used this theme as the theme for my character, who almost ascended to Godhood but was betrayed by his second in command.

I knew this part of the game would be good as soon as I saw the "you will not be able to play freely for a while after this point
That message is the reason I was way too OP for most of it, I just went to find every last thing and do every last side quest I had and could do.

Broadleaf kingmaker was fairly hard, but being underleveled oakenheart took hours to beat.
