He was one of the best musicians/vocalist/composer of this age in my opinion! I mean shit... He made this song as a 15,16 yr old kid... This song is better then most bands music in all their careers! And this was before Alexi even got near his full potential... If that isn't legendary talent then Idk what talent is! Just hearing the absolute ear vomit that people try to pass as music these days is shite! With Alexis death, an era of music died as well!
This song is so good it hurts. I think it would've been ruined by better production, low quality gives it mysterious and mystical feel it needs. Everything about this song is top notch, drumming, riffs, vocals, composition, variety. Easily up there with any best CoB songs or even better.
It hurts even more now that Alexi is no longer here! 😭 Fuck I miss him, he was the most influential singer and musician to me... If only I could have heard this live somehow before he passed it would have been so fucking epic! Fuck
@@stillmetal760rider5 I've been hoping for years to hear Inearthed songs being played live but unfortunately it did not happen. While I'm not sentimental and CoB wasn't even my favourite band but Alexi's death is the first one that touched me. He was not that much older than I am and I grew up with his music being present in my life since an early age and his passing definetly made an impact on me. I didn't even think that it could be any different than me aging to my 60s or 70s and thinking thoughtout all these years what is Alexi up to now. I hope he is in a better place now, rest in peace Alexi.
It will never cease to amaze me that a bunch of teenagers made such a wonderful piece of metal. Rip Alexii, you were my hero during my youthness, and you still are, 15 years later
They dissected this songs parts and threw them into Mask of Sanity. 2:05 into Mask of Sanity is the same phrase as 3:05 Talking of the Trees, same key, reveresed timing until 3:25 when it goes into same exact timing as Mask of Sanity. 0:55 into Mask of Sanity is the same phrase as 2:25 Talking of the Trees.
This is phenominal IneartheD & Old C.O.B is so very good. I have been listening to this non stop! I love this sound and style. The new stuff CANNOT compare. I wish I could make stuff this cool as a teenager!
'The talking of the trees, the reaper is a tree' - priceless! I remember when back in a day people were trying to deschiper those lyrics word by word. It should have bee the hell of a job.

I like this a lot more than the final version of Mask of Sanity. Especially cause the version on Follow The Reaper kind of blends together sound-wise with other tracks on that album.
Talking of the Trees (Sanctuary) Lie! The talking of the trees, the reaper is a tree Brought to serve and crying out, feel it, it works loud Talking of the trees, Listening to the trees In the dark, the lifestyle it's your god(.....)fate Fate! We're come to reign, where death is bound Silent Scream, these words she screams about I hear the cries, this music and this flash Those dreams before this flash (what they're about?) It is all gone Die... Out, Another Dream, Blood for Rain , in dark the reaper will come out second Dream, above the dream, Silent Scream And the face mesmerizes painting of blood and wine stars falling over me shadow the mighty wolf fighting on and on Lone! Forever you saw the tree, their talking of the betrayal Together fly, deliver and reaper with his blade Go! You never grab my soul to die, kneel forever more Nothing is left, time to go, time to our return Never soul, it's time for death, kneel forever more Time seems death, time to life, it's time to our return Home Why? Do you wanna die? Dy-ing!
They had to switch record labels, but they had already recorded something wild under inearthed, so they changed their name and went to a different record label to keep the album name.

This indeed sounds beautiful. It has the same atmosphere like in Something Wild & Hatebreeder. I like new Bodom too but this is very beautiful and melodic. Development of CoB brings to my mind the develpoment of Dimmu Borgir. The first albums were atmospheric and melodic, new albums are full of riffs, double bass and that kind of stuff. I don't say it's a bad thing. Bands have to develop and not sound the same.

Thanks for uploading this... the riff around 5:10 is used in a COB song but I can't remember which one... Since you guys are like me , the old-school COB fans not the nu-metal fans that illegally download all of their music. How do you guys fell about the bands new direction? I think that blooddrunk is pretty weak compared to the other great albums that they released. The none the less still a great album.
Alexi's vocals screwed up because of his smoking. That's what I heard from several sources at least. Haha, and people tell me that the best vocalists smoke.
sadly, the band were going to cover this song and release it on their first album, Something Wild. Now comes the question... WHY THE HELL DIDNT THEY?!?!? this is FUCKING amazing!
im a guitarists man .... but dude!!! fuck !!!!! the bass lines are like .... FURRRYOOOOO!!!!!!sounds simple yet technical... but it is technical.....every instruments come to life
@WarmaW Yeah I'm a drummer too ;p Anyone with the slightest bit of knowledge about drumming would know this is by far more complicated than the newer stuff.
@igotwoodhaha I couldn't agree anymore. That would be my dream come true. If I could, I would give them a million dollars to do that. Today is the first time I've ever heard inearthed material. And I love it all so much. It's similar to something wild.
@FinnishMisanthrope Then there is some people that like it technicly with "cool" riffs and stuff... just sayin, I like it technical too, but this is so unique. And don't think that CoB is another mainstream band that's only out for fame and money. Every song Children Of Bodom made is a masterpiece in one way or another. Children od Bodom is awesome, you know what i'm sayin' ?
My favourites are Hate Crew Deathroll and Something Wild...since Alexander Kuoppalla left the band it wasn't the same...Roope is one hell of a guitarist...I take my hat off to him...but he doesn't fit to CoB...that's why their new sound isn't the same as in 1994-2003....that were the best days of Bodom!
RIP Alexi. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.

Exactly my thoughts, the production just adds to the amazing ambient that's already present.

Right?! Every single time I hear it... No matter how long it's been!
Laiho was 17 years old...his voice hasn't changed at all :d
Except for the fact he can't do lows any more
@@deathmetalmaniac9647 Not that I know, but I think it's Alexi's choice to not sing so low.
epic
dat melody at the beginning!
Jaska's drumming is already incredible at this point!
This, my COB friends, is what you call a hidden gem.
They dissected this songs parts and threw them into Mask of Sanity.

This song is so damn epic, they should have included it on Something Wild
the girl-singing part is AAAAWWWWWSOME
RIP Alexi. Gone but never forgotten
Only imagine if they redid this song using Follow the Reaper skillset, that would be amazing.
" The song "Mask of Sanity" is a remake of the song "Talking of the Trees" from their early demo Shining (released as IneartheD). "
ALEXI - GENIUS!
one of these riffs are used on "Mask of sanity" in the follow the reaper album
This is phenominal

3:04 Mask of Sanity! Epic song!
Also 02:25.
Best band i ever knew! Such a masterpiece... Alexi was only 16 just like me now!!! EPIC
Fucking beautiful.. art like Follow The Reaper, For All Tid, Forsaken Symphony... we will take it with us, forever

This song is one of the best songs ever I can't believe how talented they were before Bodom
This was released even before i was born, damn.
Nice to see a fellow Leitner enjoy a Bodom gem!
@@HardBassKier Hey man, just saw your comment now, I didn't get a notification for it, haha.

Jaska plays well for a 15year old or so
He started at the age of 12 as well
17 here.
This intro gives me chills everytme, soooo underrated
The part starting at 3:04, can be heard on the song "Mask of Sanity" at 2:06. (Follow the Reaper-album)
They had to switch record labels, but they had already recorded something wild under inearthed, so they changed their name and went to a different record label to keep the album name.
omg... Alexi Laiho is amazing, even at like 15 he still kicked total ass CHILDREN OF BODOM FOREVER!!!
R.I.P. Alexi
The cover is beautiful.
nice to hear this again
they should remaster these albums that would be incredible :>

This song sounds like a mixture of melodic death metal , neoclassical metal and symphonic black metal ... but still great 😊😊

Ubiquitous Absence of Remission

What a fucking masterpiece dude.
I disagree, I think one of the things that makes this album so awesome, is the relatively low quality, it just brings in that old-skool sensation.

YEAAAAAAAA
THE TALKING OF THE TREES.

2:45 , 3:26 - beautiful!
god this is fuckin amazing lol, really it is. \m/
1:44 sounds so mysterious!

best bodom song ever
if you find em id like to see em..and this song is fucking great these guys were in highschool when they wrote this. amazing
With some bands that is so true. Good argument is a good argument.
@Adri0031 Yeah, it's Children Of Bodom with a different name.
2:27 This part like Mask of Sanity
those VOCALS..... *shudder*
I wish I could download this for my ipod. Alexi's vocals here are amazing.

I have all Inearthed songs in my pc:s hdd 👌🏼
Nice man
You can find the demo's in torrents surely.. I compressed this one in a better quality format, so it sounds much better then the orginal file.
sounds like norther dont you think?
It's just the way it was recorded, cause they were not on a big record label back then and it's kinda self-produced so the quality isn't great.
Towards dead end Part 1. ❤
damn... dude u realize alexi was but 17 when he did this. amazing
sadly, the band were going to cover this song and release it on their first album, Something Wild. Now comes the question...

no bodom anymore
they actually covered it... but never released it :(
it's great! the intro reminds me of iron maiden *LOL* :D
