Thank you to those who supported me through this project, keeping me at my tablet and working hard to get this thing finished. I can't even tell how long I've been here, animating this thing. The calendar says 8 months. Has it really been that long?

I'm so happy youtube recommended me this video because I just can't express how much I love this. Firstly you have a great use of minimalist coloring, secondly the linework is so pleasing to look at, along with the stylization of this whole piece (I just adore your art style and the amount of emotions expressed through it), and lastly the animation itself is amazing all the way through. I love that the two characters have so many paralleling design aspects and all the little details on the walls/shelves of the room progressing with the story. I love the underlying themes presented throughout as well. My interpretation is it's about the expectations of others being personified and the artist having to succumb or resist those expectations. To me the ending was an artist wanting to break out of this cycle, and they start to voice their own opinions, or in this case take a break from it all but can't when faced with all the pressure and expectations others have of them. Resulting in them crumbling under the pressure and doing what the others want, with it being lost to themselves, that they have power and are in control. But that doesn't matter under the weight of so many other voices they deem impossibly more important than their own. I loved it and I hope you can keep doing whatever you love no matter what that is (unless its illegal than thats a bit iffy).

FERAL FERAL CRAZY THIS IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, watching all your little progress updates has been such a delight to see and the final product SCREAMS time and effort!!!! I hope you are proud of this piece because I am so so normal about this animation. THIS ANIMATION IS SO CLEAN AS WELL LIKE WOAAAHHHH every line accounted for and everything!! Pov: motivation finally strikes 2 minutes before bedtime
Something about the silly happy character mesmerizes me. Something with your animation, the mouth movement, it makes me feel silly in a very good way :0 I can’t stop rewatching this
I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS MUSIC VIDEO. I am obligated to watch it over and over everytime it shows up on my FYP. I have watched it so many times that I have completely over analyzed the entire video; and now I LOVE the small world-building nick-nacks that are in the background. From the poster in the beginning showing how the animator has encountered the creature MULTIPLE times, to the TV head man’s head showing up after being brutally MAULED by the creature (being used as a personal TV at first then just showing up destroyed in the corner of the room). I also noticed the questionable URL when the animator tried to log out, it saying ‘who-are-you’. Also, ofc, the detail that made me interested in the background in the first place, the closet door opening ever so slightly. There is definitely skeletons in that closet. Probably the rest of the TV man’s body 💀
the worldbuilding in the background just really brings the characters to life and I am tempted to watch this EVEN MORE times to admire the clean, amazing animation and to see if I can find any more clutter relevant to the advancement of the character’s story.
Speaking of the characters; I AM ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED WITH THE WAY THEY ARE ANIMATED OH MY FREAKING GOD. I also ended up over-analyzing the way the creature moved and how you managed to make even the smallest movements seem so huge and the large movements seem so small, and yet the animation is one of the most pleasing things I have ever looked at. Something else I admire about this is the LIPSYNCING. ohmyjimminychrismas i am IN AWE. I aspire to have that level of lipsync ability in animation, to keep the mouth expression simple yet fit the words without it making the animation seem ‘gaudy’.
okay i think if i let myself, I will end up talking about this for WAY TOO LONG. In summary, this needs to have 4M views stat or I will take this up to TH-cam directly.

Gosh this is my first time seeing any of your animations but this is absolutely stunning. I keep rewatching it to catch all the little details like the kittick ruining my life count switching inbetween shots from 15 to 0 and the star poster above the computer becoming a puppet strings drawing. Bravo honestly, this will probably be a inspiration for me for a long while
i honestly keep coming back to this every few days just to rewatch it again, it's THAT pleasing to the eye.
About the animation quality, movement and character design:
Everything is so smooth, the movements are just incredible - small head bobs, shaking off a sweater, the moment when comments appear, TRICKS WITH CARDS. You can review it many times and still not get enough (which is what I'm doing now). The Kittick moves very smoothly, which suits the calm rhythm of the song
The design motif of the jester is very well readable in Kittick, both characters look very interestng, I want to see more content with them. And Kit is very friend shaped

Alright, so, I've been watching this a TON over the last two days, and there is a LOT to this.
To start, I presume that the Jester character is an OC, in-universe, and that the main character here is a self-insert.
With that in mind, this is a story about an OC superseding its creator, taking on a life of its own, and dragging its creator along with it.
I'll try to deconstruct this to the best of my ability, bit by bit:
Firstly, the usernames of the commenters at 0:37 and 0:39, Fair-Weather-Friend and IKnowYou43.
Fair-Weather-Friend: A "fair weather friend" is someone who is, as the name implies, a friend, but only when their wants are satisfied. The text of the comment shows this as well.
IKnowYou43: The text of this comment, along with the username, imply a false closeness. A declaration of "I know you", but with none of the care. The text implies a lack of acknowledgement toward the effort it takes to make animations such as these, and, while good-intentioned, is... annoying and frustrating.
Secondly, the imagery of puppeteering is very, very prominent, showing up in literal form at 0:35, in a poster at 0:46, and in non-literal form at 1:23. This is self-explanatory, and is, as mentioned before, core to the story.
Thirdly, the robot salesman, first shown at 0:51, serves a solid narrative purpose. They act as an intrusion to the situation, an outsider looking in. Unfortunately, they are quickly dispatched, and have their head opened and looted.
First thing that gets pulled out is a miniature version of the red character from your Gloom music video. This character is tossed away and disregarded. This signals to me a lack of care for past works by the OC. This is further contextualized by the next item.
The next thing that is pulled from the head is a crown, which is then claimed, and worn with much arrogance. This signals to me an issue of ego, willing self-deification. The previous item, the small red character, representative of past works, is considered unimportant, and importance is instead placed in GLORY, FAME, FORTUNE, and PRESTIEGE.
The self-insert is then silenced, forced into the role of mouthpiece by the OC. Its voice speaks for them.
The timelapse sequence says the most out of everything else in the video. The OC prances about the room, taking upon various poses, doing... nothing productive. Contributing nothing. The self-insert works, and works, and works, occasionally crying, but persisting. The OC watches passively on occasion, between poses, but most notably, tries to leave, several times. The door remains locked, metaphorically displaying that, in spite of the power imbalance, it is the OC that is trapped, not the self-insert. This is a clear problem for the OC.
The tape loses its seal from the self-insert's face. The OC is losing power. The self-insert tries to log out, to leave the online space with which the OC desires such engagement with, and has their head slammed into the desk, knocked unconscious, as shown by their obscured face in the next shot. They are claimed by the OC, stored away in the 8-Ball, finally granting the OC freedom from its prison, freedom to act as they please, to not just supersede the self-insert, but to subsume them.
And... that's about it. There's a lot more I could go into, including:
1. the visual similarity between the OC and the self-insert
2. the comparison between the two's talents from 1:08 to 1:18, where the self-insert is shown to be better at getting work done, as the OC's desk is clearly set up for leisure, but the OC is shown to be better at superficial and flashy gestures, still skilled, but in a way that is useless, while the self-insert fumbles in doing the same, but in a way that is endearing, unlike the OCs demonstration.
3. there are SO MANY references to older works in the room, shown through items, posters, even TABS IN THE ANIMATION SOFTWARE
4. the cable management shown during the timelapse segment
5. WHERE DID YOU GET THE GIANT CAT PLUSH ON THAT BED I NEED IT NOWWWWW
...but this comment is already essay-length, so I'll spare you that. Overall, incredible animation, incredible story work, just... I'm beyond impressed.

Been thinking about this all day and I've worked up my own interpretation of the video. I won't post it because my own life situations could be blending into how I see it and how I relate to the animation, but it's okay to log out sometimes is what I will say. As pretty as the primary stars of the void are, sunlight is just as pretty and kit deserves to see it, no matter how much kittick tries to hype up the former :)
i have been coming back to watch this video every day im so serious. there's something so addicting about the smoothness and rhythym of the animation (especially the little micro-animations like the eyes flickering slightly side to side). it's just so genuienly impressive that it keeps popping into my head and i just have to come back and watch it again. i'm so glad I found your art through this bc it has been super inspiring and keeps me motivated in my own animation class :3

Basically, my take of it is the pressure of people getting him to post more content but, he’s burnt out so he doesn’t want to. Eventually, he gives into the pressure and starts to post but realizes he can stop; so he does.
