Toby McKeehan, Kevin Smith, and Michael Tait became friends while attending Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University in the mid-eighties in Lynchburg, Virginia. The moniker dc Talk was originally chosen as a reference to Washington, D.C., their stomping grounds while in school. Their record label, ForeFront, nonetheless promoted the initials as standing for "decent Christian," as a marketing effort to appeal to new listeners.
when are they playing next???? together...or apart...pref. TOGETHER...come on!! Even Cheech and Chong are back together for a tour/purpose... bless ya'll from the mighty and living God..may I absorb an iota of His grace.
Yeah, hiatus. Right. The last year I believed that was 2000. I think that IF they ever make another album or do another tour, everyone will call it a "reunion" not "off hiatus".
Actually, the Decent Christian part is incorrect. DC Talk was a nickname Toby was given for being from the Washington DC area. Him and Michael used it early on, and it stuck. There is no hidden meaning behind the "DC".
Lol people DC talk doesnt stand for Washington DC.. Yeah 1 or 2 of them are from lynchburg VA I think but still has nothing to do with the make. Their name actually means- Decent Christian Talk.

Yes Patrick you saw Toby Mac because he was part of DC talk. He didnt become a solo artist until the early 2000s.
Very talented group of men. Glad they use their gifts for glorifying Christ.
