I really think she wanted the audio on the tv to be much better than it was at her previous bet awards performance. Like when you listen to this it sounds like her voice fills the room, vs live taping you’re singing with the crowd, & band interfering with your sound. All she did was go in and record it during sound check. She probably did sing at the BET awards, but the TV only heard the pre-recorded
