I think it's likely that season 3 runs longer rather than shorter. Perhaps the last couple of months will be cleaved off into an offseason where they'll still have dinars/ingots and the corresponding vendors, but they will just have season 3 items.
Turbulent timeways did overlap with the next patch by one week last time - since the raid usually doesn't open til week 2 of the patch, it could make sense here as well. I don't think they're gonna curtail season 3 that much. I think if we see a season 4 at all, it'll be very short - 6-8 weeks or so.
My prediction is they want player housing out before Legion Remix because there's some implementation of it alongside the class order halls. Whether we unlock the order halls themselves as houses or just get themed decorations through bronze I don't know but I'm willing to bet there's some tie between the two.
I'd be kinda tilted if they threw housing into what could be a one time event. Think it'd be better if there were new Legion meta achievements based on already existing ones kinda like BFA that award housing items. That way we can have an easy time completing them during the remix but can still do them just fine (or have em done already) without the remix.
@@SoulSoBreezy What I meant by my comment was that doing Legion Remix could reward the Order Halls as player housing or, as you said, award Order Hall themed housing items (Light's Heart, for example) in the base game, not the Remix mode. Finish the rogue class campaign? Now you can have the Dalaran sewers as a housing location, or Ravenholdt manor since Dal is... gone. OR, more likely, you finish the rogue campaign and now you can have Dal sewer themed items for your house. Rogue and mage are the only ones that would need changing but with Ravenholdt and Karazhan that shouldn't be too big of a problem.
I'm wondering if the green doesn't represent Legion, but instead it's The Burning Crusade. Midnight has us going back to Quel'Thalas, afterall, and 11.2 seems like its going to be Ethereal themed; both are things which are heavily tied to TBC.
Was talking about this earlier, was thinking this COULD be TBC but walked it back because they'd have to create a raid finder queue for all their raids. Not like they can't do it, but they didn't do it for the MoP remix
There's an interview where pretty much Ion confirms is Legion Remix.. why are we still asking about what that is? IIRC the intervieer says something like "we been wondering if you are planing to do another event similar to mop remix, perhaps for legion?" And Ion says "quite good question... i wonder what that fel green part on the road map means" and after that they changed the logo that used to look a lot like a heartstone to something else.

@aconb2120 the interviewer mentioned Legion and Ion said "FEL GREEN" in the roadmap. Also, Legion is the most obvious one to be chose for a remix. WoD was an expansion too short in content, TBC would need a HEAVY rework to be usable for an event such as REMIX, as in seriously massive reworks needed, and Legion is a very popular expansion, is kinda the defacto option to be honest, and the expansion more heavily linked to FEL GREEN. Even TBC is not as strong linked to fel, even tho obviously had quite a lot of Fel Orcs etc...TBC is more often depicted orange.
Thanks for going through all this! I hope they'll slow down, I want to keep playing other games besides WoW. An expac every 2 years is just right to get excited
They didn't outright say that, but it makes sense - they want to get expansions out faster during the saga, and the easiest way to do that is to skip the Fated season. The fact season 2's raid is rewarding a Raid Teleport for its Renown track, which is usually the Mythic Fated reward based on the last two expansions, strongly suggests they don't intend to do a Fated season this expansion.

game time and expansions are two different things, if you want to play retail you should buy the current expansion, other wise your progression will be halted when midnight releases. However you can still play classic or SoD wow with your remaining gametime.
So no Pandaren Heritage armor? Or all Pandaren regardless of faction are Shado-Pan? 🤔 Ijs most of the cosmetic options as of late from MOP are 90% Shado pan inspired, it would be nice when we do get the heritage armor that it's going to be inspired upon the actual Pandaren clans (Huojin/Tushui) the respectively joined the Horde and Alliance, rather than just a neutral themed one for Pandaren in general
I don't see your reasoning for including a season 4 this time. If we have an 18 month expansion, with three six month patches, then where does season 4 fit in? Hopefully it doesn't.
Tried to make it pretty plain to see. 10.2.7 + prepatch is the window where S4 will exist, that's an approximately 3 month period (8 week patch, 4-5 week prepatch period. Unless you only want the Legion remix to only last a few weeks which I don't think would land well.

I for one LOVED remix, and the remix servers didn't feel dead at all, did you even try remix during that time? if you did and didn't enjoy it, just cancel your sub and play something else during season 4.
I really doubt and don't want Midnight to come out any sooner than a Sept. 2026 release date! I hate the speed at which content is released as is. Content droughts were blessings in disguise.
Nothing to do with development pace and everything to do with firing all your QA staff and relying 100% on outsourced cheap QA. They could take twice as long on a patch - but without anyone doing QA with that time, you'd just have more buggy content.
Given Blizzard's previous remarks expressing their goal to release WoW expansions about every 18 months, I think there will only be three full seasons in TWW. I don't see Blizzard adding a shortened Season 3 and Season 4 to TWW. Otherwise, your predicted schedule of events leading up to the release of the Midnight expansion seems sound and reasonable.
Blizzard have never said 18 months. That's only ever been content creators guessing a plausible number. Blizzard only ever said that they're aiming for a faster expansion schedule, and that they want to be done with the worldsoul saga before 2030.

With the parallel development of the World Soul Saga expansions, it seems quite possible for Blizzard to shave off an additional 3 months in order to bring the expansion release cadence to about 18 months. Especially when it's reportedly easy to implement a season 4. That's like tossing subs into a fire.
If Midnight, WoW 12.0, will not be released in 2025, there will likely be no preorder options in 2025. The law requires them to allow refunds if a preorder is not delivered in the same calendar year as the preorder is placed. Beyond that, the rest seems to align with what has been said so far.
Depends on the jurisdiction but that's mostly a myth. Regulations simply require the product be released within a previously advertised timeframe that's reasonable, including being able to fully refund. Like if they were to say june 2026, that'd be fine. If they were to say December 2026 it's in poor taste. If they try to state it's not a guarantee it'll ever release, they need kickstarter-like legalese. Misleading or lying maliciously is what can be litigated. Blizzard's track record on that is pretty clean, the one exception came from the WC3 reforged delay iirc
I'm not a fan of rushed expacs. Two year cycles for development was the sweet spot. If they fill the expac with story and not filler players would be fine, it's when they just do filler grinds people get upset.
You're right the seasons are way too long. A M+ season should be no more than 12wks long and then rotate to a new round of dungeons. This would keep the rotation more inviting. Anyway I wish everyone would just unsub for at least 2 months just to protest the poor decisions Blizz made so far with this one. I've been sub'd since TBC and just unsubbed at least until Midnight, but not pre ordering this one. I'm just made at what they have done to M+. Put it back to DF s3 or s4 and leave it alone.

That's cause it's an improvement. it used to be 7-8 months with maybe one mid patch between them. Legion managed about 5 months (like now) though the tradeoff was kinda weird where the major patch was the zone, the mid patch was the raid.
The alternative would be NO content like siren isle since .07 patches weren't a thing til dergonflap. I'll take siren isle over nothing. It's not great, but it's not bad either
