Hellooo!! From Nanyangbeiyuan to the building where I take classes (building: 上院）is about 40minutes on foot, by bike about 12-15 minutes and by Didi (Chinese cab) about 7-10 minutes without traffic jam. I do the intensive language courses. There are actually quite a few Koreans here who also do my major. To make friends, you just need to get out of your comfort zone more and dare to talk. Especially the first few days is crucial! Don't be afraid and just talk to people!
