I bought a 2012 Mustang Boss 302 from a shop I know well. Salvage in small print remains on the title forever - it doesn't turn to rebuilt once the vehicle is fixed here in South Carolina. 10,600 miles on the car when I bought it, and on paper, I'm the second owner. The shop drove it little during ten years with a dealer tag. It was first insured with USAA, but I've since changed to Hagerty.
Our state has a strange branding for rebuilt title cars. Here a car can never loose it's "salvage" brand therefore rebuilt title cars are branded "salvage rebuilt" secondly you can actually register and drive on a salvage title here as well. so it gets real confusing here in SC
You mentioned selling several rebuilt cars to someone out of state at the beginning of the video. And @1:50 you say that rebuilt cars are easily registered. My daughter bought a rebuilt car in Ohio and now wants to register it here in PA but it looks like we have to have it re-inspected now at a PA state certified station (which is expensive)- At least this is what I've been reading. Would you know if that's the case? Because I'm thinking that if it was inspected by the state in Ohio already, we should be good to go.
Yea that's common. Not all states but some states require a reinspection when an out of state rebuilt title enters a that specific state. It's a much more laid back process when this happens.
In New York, I heard it’s hard to get insurance for rebuilt title. There are some good rebuilt title cars that I want to but one but I’m afraid of getting insurance coverage
No, they are not correlated. Auctions put announce for many crazy reasons. We have seen structural put on cars bends in flanges from being jacked up. Seen structural damage for a driller hole for pdr work.

So rebuild title is easier to sell or buy and transfer them and good to go? I'm planning to get one but i was kinda confused.. thank you.. I have a SUV and my vehicle was total, I keep the car and I get the blue title, I just need inspection in lights and brakes. In California and that's it, once I have all that, new lic plates and a title that said salvage..
So basically when YOU buy the cars that have been crashed you get the red title and once you have fixed them you get let’s say the real title that says Rebuild ? Is it the same if it says Rebuild salvage damaged in the title? The thing is that l bought a car like 7 years ago. And l always said that it is a salvage car but you are saying that it’s called salvage before it has been fixed or rebuild. Once you have fixed it it’s called rebuilt? Sorry it may be a dumb question but l have never thought about it until now that l am trying to sell it and they are asking if is a rebuilt or clean title. My unswer would have been is salvage. But for what you are saying l should not call it salvage any more but Rebuilt? Thanks. 😁
So I am looking at a sweet f 150 with a rebuilt salvage title in colorado and ik you can't get an auto loan or its very hard to but how easy is it to do a personal loan and use that on a salvage car?
There are MANY banks that loan on rebuilt title cars. USAA, DCU, Penfedd, lightstream, and one main (bad credit) are just to name a few. There are many more.
I bet you anything a used car salesman can get full coverage and financing on a rebuilt. Customer may not even realize. But honestly I don’t think full coverage is worth it on anything besides a brand new car.
@@chrisreynolds6391 we don't get insurance for our customers. Many lenders require full coverage before you can leave with the car. Our customers get insursnce themself. We don't have a hand in it.
I live in Texas and own a 2015 Ford explore that has a rebuilt title. Not only did a bank allow me to finance it I also have full coverage on it. Your comment is far from accurate.
Your wrong I bought a 2019 charger that has a rebuilt tittle previously salvage with low miles about 31k finance at a low price of course. I was able to put full coverage on it and I called to make sure they weren’t making a mistake or didn’t know the vehicle history which I doubt I’m sure they know everything by vin anyways.

In Texas you cannot get full coverage on a rebuilt/salvage.. Its already been totaled out once, they cant do it again..

New Hampshire does not have mandatory auto insurance!!! Hmmm???
