Hello sir, You are saying that nawab of Hyderabad first sign on subsidiary alliance. But in my book it's written that The kingdom of Awadh (Oudh) was the first state to enter into an alliance... Sir please clear my doubt I am really confused Sir it will your pleasure if you could clear my doubt.. Thank you Anantika singh
The subsidiary alliance treaty was framed by Lord Wellesley, the Governor-General of India in 1799 and the first state that came under this treaty is Hyderabad. But a similar kind of treaty which has similar rules signed between Britishers and Awadh in 1765 after the battle of buxer. People generally consider it as a subsidiary alliance but by name it wasn't.
