This was May 31, 1997....1997 HFStival at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C...Among others, Kula Shaker, Prodigy, Beck, Jamiraquai, and Blondie also played that day...Suffice it say, WICKED GOOD SHOW!!...Later that night, Supergrass played 930 club in DC...The Bunnymen were THERE too!!! Plus, same day...England beat Poland in a 1998 World Cup Qualifier...So, BRILLIANT day for me all the way round!!!
You don't no know how much.. When Paul Rothschild first saw echo and the bunnymen in LA about 1984. He couldn't believe it.He said it was the greatest rip off of the doors ever. I would be a bit more complimentary as McCulloch stayed on his feet rather longer and achieved the magic indeterminately and now and then but for much longer.
@@frederickmiles327 For sure, and Ray Manzarek felt the same and played with them on stage even. The band has that one of a kind Doors quality, McCulloch pulls that throaty vocal that Morrison did sometimes - he also Morrison like can drink up a storm and PO fans at times like Morrison could at times. Times aren't like they used to be in Rock, modern fans don't know how it was.....
I've never seen this before. If you think Mac's voice sounds gone you should hear him now. What this clips shows very well is the impossibility of replacing one of the best drummers ever
@cujocommander Show some compassion lad. That paticular drummer is now dead. I met their current drummer in a bar opposite parr street studios about five months ago.
Wow, the camera work sucks! They keep going back to the front & side of Ian & the Drummer, over & over. Then the side camera man...what does he do? Side shot of Ian! What idiots! That bass players lays down killer rifts and we never see him. Also...Ian's choice to fill the middle of that sound with his voice doesn't work for me. I'd much rather hear an extended version of the original bass & drum segment from that song that is so killer. Ian's voice is great, but I love the whole band!
best drummer of echo for ever and ever!!!!!!!!!!!
Pete was the only bunnymen drummer. And obviously better than this one who Just kept doing the dá-me basic drum roll on all songs.

The best performance of that great rock!
great drummer. great song, great version. love the drummers facial expressions.
Excelent stamina on the drummer. RIP
Looks like those guys are having fun. I hope I reincarnate as a rock star.
He's got a serious Jim Morrison quality going on here in this performance!!!

Amazing!
I can't help it, I just miss his voice from the 80's... As Mac himself put it: Nothing lasts forever.

Great drummer
Great Drummer, very underrated, just like Mitch Mitchell was.
Best reunion ever
Raw Stomping Kicking Ethereal Brilliance
I've got a handful of this
What do I do with it?
I've got a barrel of this
What do I do with it?
I do it clean, I do it clean
Do it clean, do it clean
Know what I mean
Do it clean, do it clean
I know what I mean, I mean
Where am I going
Where have I been
Where are you going
Where have you been
I've been here, I've been there
I've been here, there, everywhere
Here there nowhere
Iszy bitzy witzy itzy everywhere
I've been here and I've been there
I'm clean
I had a handful of this
What did I do with it?
I had a barrel of this
What did I do with it?
I did it clean, I did it clean
Do it clean, do it clean
Know what I mean?
Do it clean, do it clean
I know what I mean

A melhor banda de sempre
this is the closest they ever come to The doors with the addition of an organ...which they never had in early years
the organ is on the album

Sorry to break the news to you, but this drummer, Michael Lee, died about a month ago of an epileptic siezure.
That's 2 drummers down :(
Damn shame. What a waste.....
Poor Will
Les is playing bass. Will Saergent(sp?) is playing guitar with the helmet and flowers on his head. I don't know who the second guitarist is.
It's me.

i dig will's hat - - hehehe
I think the cameras focused way too much on the drummer on this performance. Mac's voice sounds gone.
ian in all white is just not right at all..
He is a good drummer but not the right style for the Bunnymen.
