Y'know. Being born after 9/11 is a big thing when trying to think of what it would of been if I was old enough to comprehend what it was like. I was sent here by a vaporwave album named News at 11, and it is basically a sort of way of remembering the way news channels felt before and during that Tuesday morning. Can't remember the exact grade lol I do remember being in a reading class and my teacher started freaking out she grabbed a old TV that was on a tray cart with wheels rolled it in front of the entire class and we watched the second tower collapse It was odd because we didn't know exactly what was going on I just thought the tower was on fire After I got home my parents explained and my older sister scared me because she said we could be nuked or gas bombed by the terrorists
I'm 30 I was 11 and in 6 grade when 9/11 happened. Even though I was slightly older than some of the people posting I remember being quite confused when it was first happening or maybe even the first few days about why someone would attack America. There had been minor attacks prior to 9/11; however, there really had not been something of this magnitude since Pearl Harbor. So basically everything you knew even as child was flipped upside down and was never the same anymore. It was a lot to process.
I'm 29 now and I was 10 when it happened, I was in year 6(the UK) and I think it was mentioned in school but I really remember going to my granny's house after school and it was on the TV and at 1st I didn't get it and wanted to watch after school shows but once explained to me I was scared, it wasn't even my country but I was scared!! I was still dealing with and processing my grandma's death so I didn't even think about the deaths as a result of this at the time, but later on that hit too!!

When the second plane hit, it was a huge "Oh crap moment"... then both towers collapsed. Instead of an epic but "mundane" accident punching a hole in the side of a WTC tower, it becomes an unthinkable tragedy of the mother of all terrorist attacks and the absolute destruction of the towers and surrounding buildings, killing thousands.

Being in the midwest, my local NBC affiliate aired the Today Show on a one hour delay vs. the east coast, so they were in the middle of a different segment entirely when they broke in shortly after the second plane hit.
I was in 5th grade. I remember the teacher having the tv on and we all watched the live coverage and talked about what was happening. Then we all saw that second plane hit the other tower. School was immediately dismissed after that.

Ok you’re totally right overall, but a pattern in consumer products I’ve noticed since the 90s is that big brand corporate stuff is even MORE processed and gmo ingredients and less real than it was in the 90s. McDonald’s burgers were actually more authentic in the 90s and so were big brand juices believe it or not, but I agree with you overall
