Going into this video I am very curious to see the average attitude of an Norwegian towards other countries. In this case I understand that it is a very uncomfortable and extreme question being asked, and hopefully there is no genuine hatred expressed towards another country! I am extremely curious to see how Norwegians reacts to this question, and will try to analyze it from an American's point of view. If you enjoy my reaction feel free to leave a like, comment, or subscribe for more videos like this!

As a Swede I can confirm that this is true in both directions. If someone asked me to name a country I hate, Norway would be the safest answer. No offence is taken in either direction. Norway can talk shit about us, we can talk shit about Norway, but god help anyone not Nordic who tries to do the same. The only ones allowed to mess with a Nordic country are other Nordic countries. In regards to the US, I think due to the extreme differences in political views (even the left in the States might be considered too right for some in Norway), there are definitely those who have a certain view of the country. When you consider how quiet Norway really is, and then you compare it to Trump, the constant shootings, police brutality, expensive healthcare and education, which is brought up a lot online and in the news. USA might not be the worst in these aspects, but it certainly gets the spotlight more so than most other countries.

Samtidig sier russerne rett ut at Ukrainsk kultur må undertrykkes og all anti-russisk sentiment må utraderes. Russland holder aktivt på med folkemord i Ukraina. I Mariupol alene kan Russland ha drept over 100.000 sivile.

I love how you're getting more into learning about Norway. I don't know if anyone explained it to you yet, but our "hatred" of Sweden is more like the hatred of your annoying brother. You don't actually wish them any harm, but you mostly joke about how stupid they are. Maybe you can do a reaction video if you find some good jokes. We call it "dansken, svensken og nordmannen" which means the Dane, the Swede and the Norwegian. They have it reversed in Sweden so I believe this stems from our past, but it's not actual hatred in the people´s hearts. And when it comes to America; we "hate" it because it is like our favorite uncle. Norway is historically a fan of America, but because the USA is now such a super power they end up affecting our lives in ways that we don't appreciate. Also we think it's savage-like how some people can be so monstrously rich in the USA, while other people can not afford basic medicines. That is not so much an issue in Norway because of our welfare state, but another issue that arises is laziness. For a lot of people in Norway it's much better to work no hours at all, then to work some hours and receive social welfare assistance, because of the way our system is set up. It's encouraging people to be more fully independent or dependent on the system, while there is no good way in between. While we are all essentially dependent on the system. However, like in your other video where you react to how powerful Norway is, its true like you suspected - how much more interconnected our nation becomes because of the population size. Yet our mountainous terrain makes the distances long in many cases. Our government is world leading when it comes to managing different branches while maintaining communication between those branches. We have all our systems online and you can apply for mostly anything or start a business from your couch. All from the same website. You can send money to anyone with a phone number and identifying yourself digitally has been the norm for at least 10 years. The systems can be put in place because our citizens have a lot of trust in our government. And also we make sure we diversify the power so that not one person can seize it all. Like with the sovereign welfare fund/oil fund. If there was no limit on spending any political party could corrupt itself, but because we only use a small amount of the interests, there is a virtual guarantee that the fund shall continue for generations. However it may still be drained by us the citizens and the system may collapse in on itself if people stop working. Also a final notice regarding the statement that USA is uneducated. We know you have prestigious colleges and universities so it's not that we're unaware or doubt that you are educated. What we are referring to is that these educations are unavailable for a majority of people that can not afford such education. Which essentially lowers the average education level. In Norway anyone that has finished high school can get a loan from the government to study for up to 8 years. Public universities have a semester fee of less than $100 per student. The government pays for education so much because we realize it's the future backbone of our nation. Because of this, we get a lot of highly educated people in positions of power. The American dream about working hard to become anything, is actually a part of Norways current identity. We feel that in some aspects the dream is more alive here because most people get a fair chance. However, I don't want to say this is the only truth. This is only how we experience and perceive it. We also know that we have many shortcomings and a lot of the younger generations are waking up to the fact that other cultures have a lot to offer. The Norwegian culture is private, reserved, polite and beautiful, but it's also presumptuous, prejudiced, and cold. We are a heart warm people that don't open up too quickly to strangers, but when we do it's like we are family. I appreciate your videos and you are most welcome to ask any questions you may have. With much love from Tønsberg :)

In Norway, people who receive a disability check (uføretrygd) can work and earn up to almost 100.000NOK (roughly $10.000) per year. If they earn more, they will get a reduction in the disability check.
As the disability check covers the basic necessities, people get a lot of freedom when it comes to working with their hobby/passion, like music, photography, being a youtuber, or maybe a tour guide for nature hikes.
I can say from personal experience that being on disability is not very awesome after you have seen all the "cat videos" on YT, and listened to all your favorite music, and you have been indulging in all the hobbies that appeal to you (i think i need a "dopamine detox"). I wish i was in a position to work maybe 5 hours per day, but im just really fatigued and struggle to find the energy to clean my apartment... Not all laziness is a choice...

As someone born and raised for more than a decade in the US but who has since lived in Canada, I have observed that much (though certainly not all) of the world finds many US citizens to be arrogant. Many Americans tend to measure everything by their own standard. If they (and I'm not talking about ALL Americans) find something in a foreign country that doesn't measure up to their standard they're very vocal about it, rather than recognizing and respecting that people in that country have their own ways of doing things. And famously, many (again, not ALL) Americans simply lack ANY intellectual curiosity about the world outside their own borders - frequently even if it's outside their own STATE borders. You should really be prepared for a lot of non-Americans to have some resentment toward (perceived) American arrogance as you proceed in your journey.

I am from Denmark and found your videos yesterday. I am really enjoying watching them, and your reactions are so enjoyable to watch... Our politics and way of living in Denmark is very similar to that in Norway. Probably the same could be said for Sweden and all of the other Nordic Country's, but I think that Danes have more in common whit Norwegians after all. Your reactions to things, that we in Scandinavia more or less takes for granted, are a refreshing opportunity to appreciate all of that, you are so thrilled about with Norway (and probably would for Denmark as well). In Denmark we do not have all that beautiful nature, as in Norway, and that is why many Danes are visiting Norway in our holidays. In Denmark we also have the hole country closing down for 3 weeks every summer. Schools are closed for 6-7 weeks every summer for vacation. A lot of parents are therefore also having free time whit there children in this period. Grandparents are also often taking part in the vacation plans for the young ones, so the long summer vacation period in our Nordic country's (Scandinavia) can be executed well as for the calendar... hope you understand... The Nordic Country's (Greenland, Faroe Island, Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweeden and Finland) all share most of what you are commenting on in your videos. Only the nature are big differences there. You are right in my opinion, that Norway got it all, in regards of nature. I am half Faroe and half Dane, and the nature of Faroe Island is very beautyfull as well, but not as varied as in Norway at all. We have in this summer vacation showed our son the buty of Norway and he was also blown away about the nature, even-tho he also loves the nature of the Faroe island, where we often goes for visiting family a week or two every year. The animosity between Norway, Sweden and Denmark is pretty much a relic from the past, that over time has developed into sort of a joke between the three countries. On principle we are not supposed to like each others. But if you go deeper you find that it is more of a habit than real animosity. Truth is, Norway, Sweden and Denmark get along swimmingly nowadays, despite there has been a lot of wars and oppression in the far past. bygones is bygones, and that is that. But we are three stubborn peoples, so the "animosity" remains. Although it has evolved into a friendly bantering, along the way of anything you can do, i can do better. No you can't, yes I can.... It is a never ending discussion on who is best or worst in pretty much anything, but without any real animosity to it. It is just a little fun.

I guess it's not so weird Norwegians are skeptic towards USA...
    1) Norwegian culture is built upon something called "Janteloven" which is an unwritten "law" that tells you to stay humble and treat everyone as an equal. It's super cool to be rich and successful, but don't brag about it and don't flash your net worth in the face of those less fortunate. Americans don't seem to have that same "law". Instead of working and achieving together, it seems it's more about competing against each other.
    2) Norwegians are sooooo hardcore against racism and can't stand the way Black Americans are being mistreated in the US. "Keep'em poor with next to no chance of getting proper health care, a proper education and a proper job with a proper income. Then we blame them for becoming criminals and claim that crime is a "black community problem" when ir is in fact a "poverty problem".
    3) "Oh, she was drunk and too occupied with her cellphone and walked right into the glass door, so now she is suing the store for 5 million dollars in damages because of her head injury." - Doesn't seem logical to us...
    4) "Sentenced to life in prison + 300 years." - Doesn't seem logical either.
    5) Questioning the average level of IQ in certain regions of the US when Donald Trump was elected president... 🤦‍♀️
    6) Ku Klux Klan still exist... 👻
    7) "The land of opportunities" has one of (if not "the") highest population of homeless people in the industrial world, and a health care system so expensive it basically tells the population to f*** off and die...and you still kill innocent people on death row. 🥶
    8) French fries might be made from potatoes, but it's not healthy and shouldn't be served in schools.
    9) The working conditions offered at Amazon says it all. So does the fact that people can have 3 jobs and still be poor. Not to mention the lack of any form of a decent maternity leave.
    10) Any idiot is allowed to walk around with a hand gun.
    Still, there's a lot to ❤ about 🇺🇲
...but that's for another episode 😉

I really like your series of videos where you educate yourself on Norway.
Norwegians(like me) know that we come from a small country that not many people around the world know anything about, and when videos like this appears we just love to watch them :)
About the "hate" on America, I think this is a bit lost in translation.. Not a single one of the people is saying that they hate, that's more of a clickbait I guess.
But a lot of Norwegians is split in a love/hate thing with you guys. Very very many of us would love to go to the US and visit your country and culture, but then again we're baffled about the political system. The lack of public health care and that it seems like all the really important things needed to live a safe life in a safe house for many people is a real struggle, the gun laws and the people that are SO afraid of not walking with a gun on them.. Here in Norway, as long as you've been born into this world(this country), you're safe.. Your mother know that no matter what's happening to her and your family, you will alwas be taken care of. Even if you do illegal stuff our system takes care of you, we're not all for the punishment, we want to rehabilitate you and make you want to be a working part of the system after doing your time.
I would recommend you to watch something about the Norwegian prisons, health care and more of the daily stuff. We do really love it here, and the average Norwegian doesnt really carry much hate at all.. :)
Anyway, I hope you understand my english writing, english is not my native language so that's why. And keep them videos coming, I'll be watching them! :)

After watching the reactions of Norweigians towards my country the emotion I feel is anger. As an American I am not blind to the many problems we have, but we are a huge, diverse, complex country. Norway by comparison with a small mostly homogeneous population, gifted with abundant natural resources is much easier to govern. You and your fellow Norweigians might bare those facts in mind before being too quick to sit in judgement of my country.

    • @GeneralWarned
      @GeneralWarned ปีที่แล้ว

@@charlesmartin1121 I agree with this. The U.S. has incredible complexities that are enormous undertakings to right after being festered for so long. Norway and the U.S. cannot be truly compared. It's an unfortunate fact that with the U.S. being in the media spotlight constantly with their many difficulties and controversies, it's impossible to ignore all the bad- even if there is a lot of good. For what it's worth I don't think many if any Norwegians are so blind as to truly believe that America could just "do like Norway does", or that there's an easy fix to everything. We however notice all the influx of garbage and madness the media spews at us, and make opinions based on just that. America becomes an easy mark by being so vocal!
Personally I love a great many things about America. There is so much I wish I had or could experience from there, and of which I am quite jealous.
I also think it's important to be proud of your country and where you come from, even if you recognize things could be better. There is a lot I dislike about Norway (their willingness to jump on a wagon being one of them), but I have to be grateful for where I come from and what I have access to, and by looking out into the world it puts all of that into perspective.
What upsets me about the U.S. are two things: "Willful" ignorance, and the great potential.
With easy access to information about the entire world at ones' fingertips, it shouldn't take much to find better solutions to things- healthier ways of thinking. I think the media plays a harmful role here, breeding a lot of unhealthy ways of thinking- keeping everyone in a shut box. The people are content with what they have. Which leads me to the potential! It's so difficult to push for change when not aware of how to achieve that change. America really _could_ so easily be the greatest country if some of the values in government weren't so deeply ingrained and centered around money. Instead it's now the greatest country only in that it's a haven for rich people. Apart from that it's a hellscape for so many who can barely make ends meet despite putting in amazing effort slaving away.
It's certainly not easy to govern a country, but I don't think America would be any less great if they decided to give more fair rights to the people and stricter standards for businesses. It's not difficult to give these rights- it's just a few strokes of a pen, but that would mean demoting the rich from zillionaires to multibillionaires, and considering how they are the ones in power it just will not happen unless either the entire people shake their ignorance and revolt, or if a few pave the way by showing how profitable it can be to show compassion!
Until then the great U.S. of A. has great potential. It has a lot of goodness that isn't covered in media, and you'd be a fool not to recognize that. Cherish your country, but don't ever be content. Keep pushing for things to improve!

It is a constant battle for the soul of our country. And right now it is more contentous than any time since our Civil War. In the midst of that struggle we need support and understanding from our friends in Europe, not condescension and judgement. Thank you.

So this video was filmed half a year after the inauguration of Biden. A lot of European countries were still recovering from Trump.
To us it's impossible to understand why half of America could vote for someone so seemingly narcissistic, bullying and cruel to be the leader of the free world. Trump affected our view of America, as did Bush when he started two major wars. It's sort of a consequence Americans have to take responsibility for, if you vote up a person who acts like a bully internationally, then some people will lose respect of you as a people and country.
But recently, Putin, and to a lesser extent "Winnie the Poo", has indirectly made us more warm to America. Seeing the alternatives are even worse.
How-ever as a second reason, since there's a lot of judgement and dislike of over-confidence and bragging behaviour in Norway, and Americans are often very confident in themselves, it creates a clash. Like in Minnesota and North Dakota were it became common to make jokes about Norwegians being stupid, Norwegian immigrants not stating themselves with confidence made them seem less intelligent in the eyes of Americans. it's a clash of cultural values that goes both ways. And since Norwegians are so exposed to America all the time from films, tv, news it becomes easier to be aware of these different values. Say Argentina which has arguably even more different values from Norway, Norwegian won't know about that because there's not a lot of films, tv, news portraying Argentina in Norway. We simply just know more about America than any other country, which can be a double edged sword for American reputation.

I watched a video about Americans´ take on their reputation internationally a few years back and there was a lady who made a very interesting point: She said that the US compared to Europe is the big and boisterous teenager who wants to show off and be the center of attention but still have a lot of growing up to do compared to its peers who are older and wiser. She was probably on to something there, because compared to say the UK and France, the US is a good few centuries behind in development. And obviously that shows when you insist on being in other countries´ business as the world police all the time. It´s worked a lot of times and sometimes it´s been a disaster. Combine that with some very bad choices in presidents over the past couple of decades, you have a pretty shattered reputation internationally, I´m afraid...

I honestly felt really sorry for you when so many said they hated the USA, personally I have a love/hate relationship with the U.S. Americans are both the nicest, smartest most polite people I have met and also the dumbest, rudest and most obnoxious people I have met, there seems to be little in between, or I just haven't met the right people yet.
The girl that says "they think they are all that" probably based her answer on both facts and cultural differences: there are a LOT of americans that seem to think that no other countries have the tech and infrastructure that the U.S has, and if a country does; the americans in question will soon tell you that it's an american invention even though half of the inventions they list is from europe or elsewhere. They will also tell you that they won WW2..not the allies as one entity, they will tell you the U.S saved europe single handedly. There are many more examples I could pull from various forums, but I will leave it with these since I find them extreme.
On top of this you have the cultural differences, and this is the most important in why norwegians or scandinavians in general has the impression you "think you are all that": in the U.S there is heavy emphasis on individualism, you can see this in both your constitusion and how it reflects into important areas like health care; there will NEVER be a universal health care in the U.S if you don't stop thinking "me" and start thinking "us", a lot of americans see this as taking away their personal freedom and thus in breach of your constitucion. Norwegains are very different as we see our population as one and think we should take care of the less fortunate by having a good welfare system.
There is also a cultural difference that is a result of the american individualism and is different all trough europe and that is that americans are more open and honest about themselves and what they are good at, and they are not afraid to say it, in europe this is viewed as bragging and looked down upon.
Someone here mentioned "Janteloven" or "the law of jante" in english, this idea is more or less gone, it's pretty common to accuse people of following this law which really just tells us that everything is jealousy, this is just not true in modern day Norway at least for the most part, it's perfectly fine to be rich and spend your money accordingly.

I'm a norwegian and I find it unfortunate that most of them don't elaborate... Most norwegians would prefer The US to most countries in fact, but it's because we are so involved with your world and updated on the news in The US and notice all the things we view as bad, that it has kinda become a standard answer unfortunately even if we actually don't mean it 🥺 Most of it is linked to politics. We norwegians simply don't understand the need to just have two political parties gradually being polarized and hating each other (at least how we view it). Even most our socialists aren't as close to the intense wokeness as some of the woke people we are witnessing, and many of the right wing people come off as somewhat extreme to us. So in other words: Extreme and intense views. Another thing we fundamentally disagree on is the need for vengeance which is being shown through prisons that make more criminals after they are released and the gun-laws even after all these school shootings, serial killings and maybe even the knowledge of violent gangs play some part of it. Some people may also criticize the foreign politics on how The US act as the world police with generally worse results after they have gotten involved. I think most norwegians also despise corruption, and we have this feeling that The US in many areas are corrupt. The "every man for himself" mentality where so many people with all their strengths may live in poverty when some people have that much money feels too cold-hearted to even those of us who are right-wing.
With that being said it's very ironic that The US would be the answer as essentially all of our entertainment which we love come from The US. The apps we use, the people we listen to, the music we listen to, the movies and series we watch and the games we play...
Many norwegians travel to the US all the time and most of us have been there at least once I think. We also find The US very exciting with lots of opportunities and a good place for great experiences. A lot of us have american friends (both through internet and in real life). No norwegian thinks a common american person is bad. Quite the opposite in fact. We view the common american as social, very friendly, cool and chill at the same time. So it's not the American people they are referring to. They are referring to the politics.
If The US had fixed these issues and had free healthcare as well and maybe better public schools and caring more about their citizens we would essentially view the US as an utopia: Where everything exciting happens, everything is good and where everyone would want to be... Now it's that AND all those things I mentioned. So for most norwegians it's a mixed bag.
Sorry for the long answer but wanted to elaborate

Most Norwegians I know would not dare call out a country that is not white (officially), but JUST LIKE YOU SAY: they would, in private, call out all the other countries you mention without hesitation. A parallel you ironically also make as you admit Norwegians are mean in comment field (dude, they are anonymous in comment field… which is similar to my point that Norwegians have other opinions in private… and as anonymous people first they do is to act like nationalists for good and evil! It’s kinda cute sometimes. (Ps: i said sometimes not always) coz for such a small country no wonder.
Also, random to add a comment on Russia but I dont disagree on your point there either. I bet we agree on Crimea too (?) but with that said, I do not think norwegians are evil for accepting «racist anti russia rhetoric» they are «human». It is generally a well known accepted fact that people subject to propaganda will tend to follow such propaganda if it is «totalitarian», and so, if you want people to change their mind or just open their mind the most stupid thing you can do is to «offend them», as you just did in your pist. But if you want to be an instigator then the best is to accuse them of being stupid and evil.
You seem like a good guy, but even if you know you are right try to not call people out for being stupid or evil without accepting the consequences.

Making a big fuzz about everything, like starting up after commercials introducing how fantastic the topic or guests are, how nice they are to the audience, giving away prices or gifts on the show, having People applaude and shout, - more like a mass suggestion, than real reactions.
    Like, where’s the genuineness?
    Wher’s the honesty?
Where’s the reality without the show?
I’m not saying that I mean this about America. But I do know what People are talking about about that. At least some People.

I find most Norwegians have a firm grasp of their criticisms and what they dislike about the US.
And on a general and overall level of analysis they are usually quite correct with their opinions for the most part. I am extremely critical of the US, my home country, for many of the same reasons. I am not pleased with what is happening there and so are many Americans. To understand what is happening there takes a lot of nuance in understanding and being aware of the conspiratorial view towards government and history on many levels. You will not ever get this from the mainstream media. Norwegians tend not to know the deep dirt on what is really going on there.
But, and very importantly, I do find that when I talk with Norwegians for an hour or two about their criticisms regarding the US in much greater detail, I then learn they don't know a lot of the underlying reason as to "Why" it is that way, how it became to be that way or how they may be swayed by the media to hold a certain opinion.
When I tell a Norwegian how things really operate they are very open minded and are usually blown away by what they learn.
The US is a very troubled place that is for sure.
But do keep in mind that it is a bit easier to manage a racially homogenous historically nationalistic population of 5.4 million than a racially and ethnically diverse population of 330 million.

children out of school, primary per 1000
    Norway 0.626 Ranked 97th.
    U.S.A 5.64 Ranked 47th. 9 times more than Norway

Right. Thats how I choose which country to hate. I look at how many kids are out of school. I guess it does not count that the US has the highest ranked universities in the world according to the CWUR (8 in the top 10; 53 in the top 100). Norway has just one in the top 100 (number #78 to be exact). But yeah all Americans are so uneducated. Maybe Norwegians are uneducated about Americans. Duh.

As a Norsk I'll say I don't hate any country, but I do have a strong disdain for certain countries' governments. I dislike governments in general, due to the corrupting nature of politics, but governments like North Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Russia, USA, etc are horribly corrupt and engage in activities like enslavement of segments of their population (migrant workers for the middle-eastern countries, ethnic minorities in China, Prison-industrial complex in the USA, etc).

It used to be a "developed" country but now the US is like a 4th world country. So you have crated totally new category of how backwards one country can go. Now you are like Russia, North Korea, China, Afganistan etc. I am so sorry for you, cause I lived and worked in the US over a decade and it has been only down hill after that.

The title is a bit clickbaity, what he's *actually* asking is, is there a country that you don't *like*?
And yeah, a lot of people in Norway don't *like* the US because the country represents pretty much all that we are culturally against.
Here it's taboo to stand out and do excessive things or be excessive etc.
While it's celebrated in the US.
Huge meals, big cars, loud people, extremist political opinions lacking in nuance and understanding of the opposing views.
And a foreign policy that's... Let's just say unpopular...
But with that said we don't *hate* the US, it's more that we have a complicated relationship with the country and its people and *very* mixed feelings.
Still, we're grateful for all that the country has done for us.
And we do consider you as friends.
    It's just that...
Well, you're kind of that drunk uncle that curses and litters that you're really embarrassed about and annoyed with yet deep down you still love him cause whenever your mum or dad *really* needs it he's there for you.
    He's just a bit clumsy and narrow-minded, that's all.
    4:03
That's said more then half jokingly.
    7:39
She's talking about your pride in your country and belief in your superiority over others.
Not that you as individuals are bad, if you get my meaning.
We do understand that your school system, and just in general society has... Issues...
And that it's not really your fault that people from your country has issues...
    But it's a bit...
    Frustrating... Sometimes...
    8:31
    Yeah, about that...
Your elementary schools and high schools are pretty bad for the most part by world standards.
You actually do have world class universities, including some of the top spots, but they're starting to slip a little bit in the rankings.
As a example, you guys use multiple choice tests while we have to write down a answer free form from memory.
No memory aid or random chance of getting it right from the available options.
    14:08
I don't think that citizens are considered "agressive" here, but arrogant?
Definitely, but then, many consider Norwegians as arrogant, so yeah...
But yes, the US *state* is definitely agressive, and not just against enemies, but indeed towards allies too.

America is one answer many has because..
    1. The politics is compared to our very selfish. The most shocking and absurd thing is your health care and wellfare.
You gun politics also. What bothers us is your arguments against stricter gun laws where for example Norway and other countries are brought up where we suddenly have laws where guns are illegal and such.
No, they are not illegal and you can very easily get a hold of your guns. There is just laws against citizen using guns that is made to kill as many people as possible I.e automatic weapons, explosives, military grade ammo and military grade vehicles.
You can get pistols, semi auto and rifles and/or shotguns. (Correction: pistols is something you need special permission for as it is easly hidden and only available if you use it for I.e shooting as a sport)
Other things would be available if you have the right clearance and has real use for them.
    2. Education in America seems to be very centered round America and its values.
Little to no knowledge about the world.
Other sectors of education as well is poor.
Only the ones that afford private schools gets the best of the cake.
Public schools has sever lacking in funds.
Sexual Education is taboo almost and kids don't get the proper education to take care of them self.
Freedom of speech is what you also boast about. But if something is brought up like more social welfar, it has been stigmatized as only communism and thus it is now been made taboo almost to talk about.
Thus you can't challenge your own ideas anymore and has stagnated in your politics and improvements.
Usa fir example went from a country with more socialistic values and good progress to leaning more and more towards the far right over the past 50 years.
    Edit 2:
Repeatedly I watch videos where politics in the republican party say norway, Sweden and other European countries are communists and this is wrong. We are more capitalistic with a free market policy and have a strong mix of socialistic values (i.e wellfare). Even russia is not communists anymore. They are far from it with stronger leaning towards capitalism than communism, only it has an oligarc structure as political system)

The lady who pointed to the US and uneducated did not, most likely, mean your education in general, but in the way the US seems to say that "my ignorance is as valuable as your knowledge" or something to that effect, that does point to a certain disregard for factual information, on top of that you have the way your politics has more or less become unhinged among a certain visible strata of the US population.
As for Sweden... that is just for the laugh, it is just taking the piss.

I feel I can shed some perspective on the “USA hate”. I am not Norvegian but I live in Europe, specifically in the post-Soviet country.
I was born in the 90’s and growing up, the USA was this dream country and it was given as a positive example all the time. We consumed American culture appropriate to our age and me and lot of my friends idealized the USA. When we were confronted with the harsh reality of many problems the USA has - e. g. healthcare, extremists in the politics, systemic racism, work culture, education system and so on, we were beyond disappointed, crushed even. So I wonder if Norwegians have the same perspective?
When confronted with the question which country you don’t like even if there is so many reasons to mention Russia or other authocratic states you choose western democracy like USA because you are deeply disappointed in expectations you acquiered as a child..

I think when the girls say they hate the USA because it's "big", what they really mean is that everything tries to appear so grandiose as if it's better than any alternative. It comes off fairly arrogant, which is in stark contrast to how Norwegian culture embraces equality and being humble. Also the girl who said "it's a bit.." ended the "sentence" with a head tilt, which kinda implies that you already know the end of the sentence. Sorta like saying "It's a bit, you know, yeah." Is that understood internationally?
Additionally, the USA is often mentioned only because it's the closest thing much of the west can relate to. Countries in Asia / Africa / Middle East can be hard for Norwegians (or most westerners probably) to comment on, because it's so culturally different, far away, and not talked about as much. Whatever bad stuff happens in the USA feels much closer to home as if it could happen in Europe, and I think that is why many Europeans are nervous about the USA.
