Cool technique. I'm going to make one for my better 1/3 (I'm a big guy.) Please *always* use a handle on your file. I know two different people that shoved a file tang into their wrist, one of whom lost most of the feeling in his dominant hand.

How do you measure your wrist size for an oval hinged bangle like this one? :)
you can use a tape measure around the widest part of your hand or they make bracelet sizers
