    Suunto got me into watch collecting. I got sick of replacing them when they broke at regular intervals . After three Suuntos I went out and bought a SKX007...job done 👍🏼😊

    bought my first Suunto back in 98 (Sunnto Advizor) and since then have owned maybe 4-5 of them. I still have my Advizor and have a Core with positive display and gifted my son a Core Black last year. I think they are solid watches. I'm not sure if they still offer this service, but back in the day you could send your Sunnto in with $25 and they would completely refurbish it. I've sent my Advizor in like 4 times after crashing on it while mountain biking - the last time they sent me a brand new one. I have a small wrist (6.75") and find those watches to be extremely comfortable despite their size - especially the Core. The Advizor has a hard time sliding under cuffs...

    Backpackers, hikers, hunters may remember Suunto as the high quality maker of compasses. They were sold thru gear catalogs and even ll bean back when they were a true outdoorsmen's supplier.

    Wearing my Protrek as I watch this. I prefer the ani/digi display of the Casio, but i totally agree that the build and fit/finish are a bit better on the Suunto. for a beater though I have to give the nid to Protrek. JMO, really great content as usual Rob. I'm glad somebody is giving a attention to quartz watches these days. Would really like to get a GS quarts GMT, but that's a chunk of folding money.

    I have a Suunto Vector that I got back in 2004, in all plastic. What a great watch! It's my do-anything watch and it's been beat up quite a bit. I just replace the battery every few years and it just keeps going!

    That would look like a frying pan on my wrist. Biggest watch I ever have seen including the thickness. Some people just love those large watches.

    I used to sell Suunto products years ago. They were some of the very few products that I had returned. They build good products.

    I'm bidding on a Core at a local auction site, price is still low so maybe I get lucky. Features seem to be very similar to my Tissot T-Touches and better than both my very old Solar ProTreks.

    I have a few suunto ,9,alpha traverse, vector. They are great watches whenever you get into the models with more intense features (gps and heat rate monitors ) they have rechargeable batteries built inside and week long battery life’s before recharging under normal modes. The traverse you can even customize positive or negative display and red and white backlight all thru Bluetooth and if you hold down the back light button it turns into a flashlight.
    Last year I went out for an evening of ice fishing and before I knew it I was the last one on the lake during a new moon, it was so dark I could not see the edges of the large lake or my truck because my headlamp did not have enough throw. I had to use the bread crumbs on the traverse’s gps to find my way back to my truck.
    If you ever wanted to check out some more for content let me know.

    It’s the “Equaliser’s” watch of choice, In the all black. Nice rugged looking watch.

    Love the design, materials and features of the Suunto Core in staineless steel. HOWEVER, the negative display is a deal breaker. Really a shame. I've bought and sold this watch a couple times and tried as best I can to accept the display, but I just can't. So, if you are at all worried about the legibility, save yourself an Amazon return and pass on this. And oddly enough, they've never made this same model but with a positive display. Closest thing is the Suunto Essential Steel (SS021216000) if you can find one.

    but is it true that the visibility of the watch is bad?

    • @don-el7418
      @don-el7418 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems like it is unreadable in some situations. Personally going with the regular black due to the white background, which greatly improves the visibility. Just wish that you had the option to go with more than just one style if you went with the white version, since the regular black isn't the best looking version.
