it gives more hp and mana that way, stats manipulation
when you move items back into your inventory your HP to max HP ratio will remain the same. so if you drop items that give you STR/INT, use regen items, and then pick them back up, you're getting more HP/mana back
You can play around with it in demo mode - try it with vitality boosters and salves
